My Reviews

NextVid Stopper for YouTube

Both limited and broken Rated 3 out of 5 stars

This is not compatible with multiprocess, and it hasn´t been updated since forever.

And even if it wasn´t broken, I do need auto-pause in fullscreen (since that´s how I watch most of my videos) which is feature I can get by using "Magic actions", which is both compatible, and happens to have a ton more features.

As such, no real reason to keep using this addon, as of today.

Thanks

FireGestures

Great addon. Performance issues? Rated 4 out of 5 stars

It works great even with e10s enabled on FF49.0.2 (No idea what the previous user means by "breaks multi-processing", it´s still enabled for me). However, if I check the about:performance tab, it´s constantly at the top of my slowest addons:

"FireGestures seems to have slown down Firefox very often".

As such, not sure if it´s actually hurting my performance more than I think.

Cheers

Fastest Search - Browse/Search Faster!

The very best search addon in the world Rated 5 out of 5 stars

Congratulations, dude!

I'm afraid there are still compatibility issues even with Version 3.39.2 and e10s manually enabled, and all other addons disabled: I still cannot export/import searches, and the right click to preview in Smart Searchbox does not open the preview panel either (Switching to "Default preview" does nothing either). As soon as I manually disable e10s, they both work perfectly. (W8.1x64 and FF49.0.2)

Could you please look at it?

Blur

The worst performance I've ever seen... Rated 1 out of 5 stars

...after a decade using Firefox.
Lastpass is notoriously slow, but this is just unbelievable. Even with every single option disabled (other than autofill passwords) the performance is EXTREMELY slow, not just the browsing, even the FF menus take noticeabley longer to appear on screen. I literally have never seen anything like this. Tested on W8.1x64 and FF49.0.2

LastPass Password Manager

Terrible performance Rated 2 out of 5 stars

A great password manager, that slows down my browser to a crawl. It´s so bad that I even moved to Chrome until I found this guy was the culprit.
The fact that version 3.x is not the latest version at all, yet Lastpass insists in not updating it here, sounds REALLY FISHY. This version is not compatible with e10s, and version 4.x has an even worse performance.
Still looking for a fully functional, LIGHTWEIGHT password manager.

KeeFox

Fast, but limited Rated 3 out of 5 stars

It does not work at all with multiple login hotmail/live accounts, since it´s unable to detect the Microsoft login form properly (How can a password manager not work with one of the main mail accounts in the planet is beyond me).

It also keeps asking me to "update" my login credentials on many sites, even when the login pages have not changed.

More complicated/less user friendly/worse UI than Lastpass or Sticky Password. It took me a while to figure out a way not to enter a master password every single time I boot my system (Create and use a key).

No easy way to sync with the cloud, unlike most password managers out there (You require a physical copy of your database for every computer you use it in, or you have to set it up via dropbox).

In his defense, it´s the fastest password manager I´ve tried so far, slowing down my browser far less than Blur (terrible), Lastpass 4.x (very bad) or Sticky Password (far from great).

Tested on W8.1x64 with FF 49.0.2.

deskCut

"Not compatible" with multiproccess Rated 4 out of 5 stars

And yet still working like a champ, after all these years. Main problem being I cannot be 100% sure it´s not causing any undetected performance issues with e10s, which is why I have to take a star out of it. Otherwise, great.

Add to Search Bar

Super useful Rated 5 out of 5 stars

Super useful

YouTube Center

Rated 5 out of 5 stars

This extension is fantastic, one of the most useful I have in my browser, actually.

If people who rate things bothered to READ first, you´ll know there have been several upgrades since this version. It´s true the latest 2.1.7 version has already started to misbehave, but it´s still working reasonably well with FF 35.

I could only hope the developer continues his work, I´m going to miss it like crazy if he doesn´t.

FireGestures

Extremely convenient Rated 5 out of 5 stars

Working fine on FF 29.0.1 so far.

Unlike the similar "All-in-One Gestures", this one has a "Backup settings" feature.

However, there are no diagonals (plenty useful for my needs, anyway) and more importantly, no default option for "Focus last selected tab" option, but you can add that script manually copypasting these settings:

if ("tabFocusManager" in FireGestures == false) {
// init tab focus manager
FireGestures.tabFocusManager = {

i: 0,
_tabHistory: [],

focusLastSelectedTab: function() {

(Super-useful feature and worth a try, IMO.)

Thanks Mr. Developer!

Googlebar Lite

Several serious problems Rated 3 out of 5 stars

I just installed this for the first time on FF 29.0.1, and the "Search site" and "Up" buttons work randomly, or not at all (Grayed out half of the times).

On top of that, I´ve just noticed that the search history has no logic order at all. Is it not possible to order it by date? (Most recent search at the top, and so on?).

Thanks Jonah

Pocket

Rated 4 out of 5 stars

Works fine, and it integrates very well with several Android apps, such as Dolphin and Feedly.

My only criticism is that it is quite cumbersome to review old items on my pocket list, since the interface on Firefox seems to be designed to be able to easily find only the last few items. If you have hundreds of them, as I do, it´s not easy to scroll through them at all, so I feel I´ve "lost" many items on that list, simply because it´s too time consuming to find them back again in this way.

Thanks.

Drag & DropZones

Rated 5 out of 5 stars

I´ve used this addon for years, and it´s been one of the main reasons, if not the main one, that I haven´t moved to other browser and stayed with Firefox.

That being said, my main problem is not being able to add folders with different search engines on it, so with a single "drag" gesture we would be able to fire up several searches simultaneously. The good old Web Search Pro used to be able do this, and it it the most serious omission of this addon, feature wise.

And oddly enough, there´s no way to backup your settings if you migrate to a new computer, new profile, etc. I have no idea why implementing a "Backup" settings is so "difficult" to do.

Anyway, I´ve finally managed to backup my settings manually by doing this:

1) Find the "Searchplugins" folder on your good profile, and overwrite the new profile with it.

2) Find "dendzones.sqlite" on your good profile, and overwrite the new profile with it.

3) If the grid size does not correspond with your previous settings, change it to suit your actual dropzones, and you´re good to go.

I highly recommend to use the "Add to search bar" plugin to further increase this addon´s functionality.

Really happy to see this addon is being developed again, keep it going guys, and PLEASE ADD FOLDERS SUPPORT!!

All-in-One Gestures

No backup settings feature Rated 3 out of 5 stars

The addon works fine, but it´s not possible to backup your settings easily, if you want to create several profiles, get a new computer, etc.

It also hasn´t been updated in a long time, and there are reports of memory leaks.

For all those reasons, I´d recommend FIREGESTURES instead.

Bit Torrent WebUI+

Almost perfect Rated 4 out of 5 stars

It works great with every single tracker I´ve tried it on, both private and public, and with both torrents and magnet links, EXCEPT for KAT, since whenever I press the download "torrent" button on that site it insists on downloading it with my PC torrent client, no matter what. If I press the "magnet" button on the same page, though, it works beautifully, as it does the "torrent" button in any other tracker, such as TPB.

I´ve tried changing the "default" torrent app on Firefox/Tools/Options, but I cannot make WebUI+ work with KAT at all.

Any idea why, Mr. Developer?

Thanks a lot for your nice work.

Drag & DropZones

One of the very best addons, now broken Rated 5 out of 5 stars

Hey Captain, really, really sorry to see you go, no idea what I´ll be using without this, really.

Not sure how much longer you´ll be around, but I´ve found particularly sad that what might be your very last update finally broke the extension for me.

In the D&D settings menu, I cannot drag any of my search engines to the Dropzone Setup any longer, they simply won´t move. I tried disabling all of my addons, still don´t. I tried reverting back to Firefox 16.2, still won´t. But as soon as I reverted back to DD Version 1.5.4, everything works fine as usual.

Not sure if you´re still willing to review these kind of things, but I´ll be coming back if you want me to give you more feedback.

Cheers mate

Drag & DropZones

Rated 4 out of 5 stars

One of the Top 3 addons in my browser, no questions. However, I have to give it a 4 star rating simply because it´s impossible to group different searchs in a folder (Like "movies", for example) so you have to drag and drop as many times as different websites you want to open, which is quite often a royal PITA.

How hard can it be, Mr. Developer, you already did it with Web Search Pro!

P.S. Works best combined with "Add to search bar" and "Organize search engines".

Video DownloadHelper

Best downloader Rated 5 out of 5 stars

Easy to use, unobstrusive, works with 99% of the sites I want to download from. Been around for ages. Great addon!

Web Search Pro

Rated 5 out of 5 stars

Excellent. One my oldest, most useful add-ons, by a long shot.

The "Add private search engine" is a godsend.

The most useful searching extension I know of.
