Such a great add-on. In fact, I'm not updating to FF29 if this space-saver isn't updating. Anyway, tips: after install, you have to mess with your settings (tabs on top, etc) to get everything just right. I also dump the search bar and use only the URL bar (nav bar) in the title bar, then put add-on icons up in the nav bar, too. I definitely remove useless icons that I use shortcuts for (home, etc). I even have a pretty 5-block weather on my title bar that I could remove to put MORE add-on icons up there if I wanted to. My browser is TIGHT (works well), with no wasted space and tons of screen space for the actual INTERNET! (Which is why I won't update FF28 to FF29 unless this add-on is updated to work with Australis —I get HIVES looking at wasted blank space.) THANK YOU SO MUCH for this awesome add-on! ♥
THIS is my newest favorite add-on; THANK YOU! Rated 5 out of 5 stars
I have the usuals (Ghostery, ABP) and even the awesome "HTML5 Local Storage Explorer" installed (look it up if you don't know it), and have used other add-ons to manage profiles (now removed), a tightly managed whitelist (even different machines for different sites). But I installed Lightbeam and saw a horror of sites connected anyway (mostly 3rd party). THAT could not be, so I did a lot of hand-editing (HOSTS file, etc) just to read some websites! ...until I tried SDC. SDC almost ALONE turned my "constellation of stars" from Lightbeam to an empty black space. Well, there are a few (UNCONNECTED!!!) sites -- the few I've whitelisted -- and I know the big HOSTS file helps. ABP keeps all ads off that my HOSTS file misses; and Ghostery and Flashblock (or QuickJava) are great for allowing temporary flash or JS buttons (that SDC will destroy later anyway!). Better Privacy is very convenient, and if not for these add-ons, I'd probably have had an entirely WHITE Lightbeam page (and I'm more of a reader than a social user). —But SDC keeps my Lightbeam BLACK (cookie-free) and my profile (get "Open Profile Folder" to easily view and back that up) clean. THANK YOU Ove; I love it. (Btw I also recommend the lesser-known "Remove Cookie for Google Account Chooser" as it's the ONLY add-on that has kept Google usable on family/friend laptops (so I don't end up logging in to others' email -- seriously, Google is a problem! Get that add-on to stuff it to Google). But overall, SDC has made my browsing experience feel a lot more secure than it has in years. (PS: Guy below me: read the FAQ and it tells you how to stop SDC from resetting your white lists, but you can also backup your white list, too. *Bing* it. :)This review is for a previous version of the add-on (0.4.4.1-signed).

I'm not understanding how to use this, I suppose — an earlier version worked differently (though I'd installed my own ffmpeg, and this version insisted on several new installs of ffmpeg, so yes, it's probably user error). But I'm putting the review here (still 4 stars!) because I think there's a new learning curve. I no longer get a video or a song; NOW I get a link from which I can download 2 "video-author-DASH.m4a" files sitting on googleservers? And from that, I have to save and recombine the sound file and video file on my own. (I indeed like having an mp3 or sound file separately, but I used to just strip it on my own.) This is different that the previous version. I'll put time into figuring out what I'm doing, but I knocked a star because of learning curve only. I think I liked the older interface better. (I've waited a while to write this review -- again, not a bug report, but a review of this new version I've downloaded.) I wish I would have kept the OLDER VERSION, so this is a review, and not a bug report.
If you respond that you added options I just need to figure out, or you had to work around (yet another) YT change, that's fine -- believe me, I get it. Regardless, you still get 4 stars at least for the best quality downloads I've tried on several programs/interfaces/OSes (phone apps, Win8 apps, linux apps, other browser plugins) — this is an AMAZING addon. I just liked the older (and to me, simpler) interface better. To me, this is still a donation-worthy add-on even with the interface changes; I find downloading and watching YT videos far preferable to watching them on YT!
But I don't want another toolbar Rated 2 out of 5 stars
Developer: Thanks for response below. I can put in a ticket, but I don't like the interface. Lastpass WAS pretty perfect as it was; I was GOING to mix it in with XMarks and subscribe, but then I see something like this update, and it makes me nervous. Do you understand that? I don't want to be nickeled and dimed to death to get features the ORIGINAL had. That's why I would have gone Pro before: to support the ORIGINAL.
Screen real estate is at a prime, and really, we're just talking about passwords here. Why should I have a whole toolbar dedicated to passwords when I can fire up Excel protected worksheets and compile my own randoms (NONE of it over "the cloud")? Seriously, right now, it's JUST AS EASY as using LP! (Or easier!!!)
So if I made a ticket, it would just be to drop back a version. Maybe others LIKE your new UI, but I don't; not at all. I don't have banking online except through two-factor authen... LP was fine [for me] as it WAS. And I'm not going to ask a company to fall back a version.
But I do appreciate your response. I'll see what the next update is like, but I'm not opening another toolbar. If I did that for every add-on, I'd have a 1x1 viewing area of the actual internet. (But extra star for the reply; really, I DO like that. Thank you.)

I was liking LastPass until this latest update. I've tried it for (weeks?), since whenever you updated it to 3.1.1, and IT NO LONGER AUTOFILLS or AUTOLOGINS!!! WTF good is it for besides password generation now?
I went into options and deselected "Use Compact Toolbar" thinking, stupidly I suppose, that it would give me the former LastPass toolbar functionality (not this "compact" menu that's three-plus layers deep!), and instead the icon DISAPPEARED ENTIRELY! I've had to work harder with LastPass 3.1.1. to get my passwords than I did using an EXCEL SPREADSHEET with all my passwords! (Actually, that's what I've gone back to when LastPass FORGOT some passwords, or couldn't round them up in that new weird toolbar button).
I will continue trying to use this through another update, but I'm telling you now, you HAD something good, and now it's BAD (except for dumping your passwords into an excel spreadsheet). Fix this. PLEASE.
Thank you! Rated 5 out of 5 stars
I was accidentally logging into FRIENDS' accounts even though it had my name and "dots" (password) if they borrowed my computer! I tried deleting cookies (PITA), profile managers --nothing helped. And this, there is no button or icon; it just LOGS YOU OUT and kills off Google's insane "memory" of who logged in where. Anyone can successfully log in now, like it used to be, without worry of "connect these accounts" dialogues. I still don't like Google, but you made it manageable with a small memory footprint. THANK YOU!

LOVED IT when it worked, but it's been flaky lately, even with people who just borrowed my computer and logged in with no cookies. Uninstalling, but will keep it as a favorite and check back one day to see if things get fixed.

Sorry about prev. review. Just UNINSTALL and REINSTALL to reset shortcuts. I wish we can save shortcuts (prob can in profile folder somewhere but I deleted. Imo websites (zoho cal!) have no right to modify shortcuts ESP after your remove your account. But removing/reinstalling addon (10 seconds) resets shortcuts. LOVE this addon. This review is for a previous version of the add-on (0.5.11.1.1-signed). This user has a previous review of this add-on.

We've been complaining at github https://github.com/ttaubert/customizable-shortcuts/issues but no response; you can't edit shortcuts, and now other sites are adding shortcuts. Uninstalling until fixed. Sorry, dude. Loved it while it lasted. This review is for a previous version of the add-on (0.5.11.1.1-signed).

After google lost it's real-time, this came in handy. I don't use the search bar, just the address bar, so I made heapr the keyword URL:about:config, find "keyword.URL", and make the string value:http://www.heapr.com/#l=web&q=Just like old times :)
(I just use the link in my bookmarks bar, not this add-on, anymore. And Duck Duck Go, but Heapr can be great!)
Loved this until today — THE CHANGE Rated 2 out of 5 stars
I wondered why I couldn't see my appointments on Calendar this morning; then I saw Google-Redesigned "updated" to the "new" calendar look (which I find unusable). Please allow a "classic view" option like GCal does; I had to uninstall just to get the "classic view". Too bad; will miss the dark theme. This review is for a previous version of the add-on (0.7.1-signed).
