Perhaps you could add a list of sites you know it works on? Does it work on Vimeo, for example? This review is for a previous version of the add-on (1.1).
I am sad to say that the whole Noscript/Adblock Plus debacle (you can easily find the details online - it is old news by now) hurt my trust in this add-on.
Still, I am always glad to see the constant updates (I refuse to believe that they are, as some maliciously claim, just to get the update page to show) and attention to detail. I hope, that in time, I will start to trust it as completely before. On the other hand, it is a good reminder to trust no add-on unconditionally.
Notwithstanding all that, I feel that this is an essential add-on. A bit hard to use at first (because it handles rather technical issues), but a powerful tool if you take the time to get acquainted with its functionality.
While I understand the (financial) motivations of the developers of Adblock Plus, I feel that this add-on is the way to go. Easy, totally ad-free, surfing! This review is for a previous version of the add-on (2.0.9).
I recall having had that problem (of hover not working). Here is an example: http://www.tumblr.com/tagged/cat-animation (load this page with "pause" as default and "hover to play" and "display controls on hover"). It probably has something to do with Tumblr and not with you. In any case you're getting five stars anyway, for a great add-on and for reacting so reasonably to critique (some add-on developers get quite enraged at the slightest hint that their add-ons are not perfection itself and the best thing since sliced bread). This review is for a previous version of the add-on (1.1).
Needs update. Resource-heavy. I have started using Linky instead.
Yes! Please keep updated!
Seems useful but database usually expands to almost same as previous size after next run of Firefox, so I really don't see the point. I did use it for quite a while though.
Mostly works. Sometimes doesn't.This review is for a previous version of the add-on (2.054).
Useful, easy to use and (apparently - I am no expert) efficient.
Works. But only if you have the patience to not convert too many files at once. Plus it annoyingly will first download the file in its original format and then convert it in the background in a manner that slows the computer down noticeably (yes, perhaps there is no other way, but it annoys me, still). This review is for a previous version of the add-on (3.2.3).
This one of the add-ons I install first when setting up a fresh install of Firefox. A must-have. Does the job, and well (and has lots of nifty little extras, like the ability to check whether a site is down only for you, and where it is located more precisely). This review is for a previous version of the add-on (4.2.17).
Mozilla, make this a feature! :)This review is for a previous version of the add-on (5.1).
Great (are you listening, Mozilla?)! I love the rings that show me where something has been found!
I use this and like it. just wondering, is it necessary now that Ghostery also removes flash cookies? (I mean, unless you, like me, like to have them removed every few minutes).
Used this, but after a while switched it to accept all by default. have still kept it installed though ... wish there were a middle road (between allow all and bug me with a million notices) for a n00b like me :)
Good. Deserves more users and publicity. Please keep it updated (Firefox is changing rapidly now - sadly).
Nice, rapid response to feedback. Thank you for allowing users the option to not have the button (many perhaps only visit Soundcloud now and then - and when they do, the download option is there!)This review is for a previous version of the add-on (0.84).
Sometimes works, sometimes doesn't. Keep it up, tho. Nice idea, and useful!
Works nicely. Useful for both people with small screens and diminished motor skills.
