Indespensible Rated 5 out of 5 stars
Without this addon, you are stuck with Mozilla's boneheaded decision to force the Google Chrome-wanna-be "Australis" UX on all Firefox users, without a single thought to all the customizations and tweaking some of us have done to get our browsers just right for maximum work-flow efficiency, non-standard use cases, or just aesthetic preference. Were it not for this addon, I would not even continue using Firefox. If Mozilla's goal is to ape Google, I'd rather just use a Chromium-based browser (without Big Brother tracking, like SRWare Iron, etc.) if I am required to deal with that design path. Or, I just install Classic Theme Restorer! This review is for a previous version of the add-on (1.3.9).
New Version Problems Rated 2 out of 5 stars
I used to use this addon often. But ever since it updated itself to 2.1.4 I cannot get rid of the new icon they put in the main bar of the browser (which messes up my theme's structure and adds an unwanted, empty bar). I used the bow icon in the status bar without issues for years. The really frustrating thing is that there is a setting in the options for ReminderFox to disable this main-bar icon, yet this setting doesn't "stick," and it resets to displaying the icon regardless of how you set it, or how often you manually remove it under the FF "Customize..." menu. Tried reverting to an older version that suited my needs, but it insists on updating itself with every browser restart. I've disabled the addon until this is fixed.
The settings/options/preferences of an addon, once changed by the user, should stay that way.
