There is already a new version of status-4-evar that works with FF29 and WILL bring the status bar back. The developer gave me the link when I complained. Why Mozilla's add-on download site hasn't been updated (as of 4/29/2014) is beyond reasoning. This review is for a previous version of the add-on (2013.10.31.22.1-signed).
This thing defaults to not showing the password, and there's no way to change that. Also, When you click on the status bar icon and the dot turns red, it works only once. If you want it work on another site, you have to click it back to blue then again to red. Maybe one day they'll remove this niusance.
I think I found the json download prompt problem in InstantFox. It concerns "json" being mentioned in the setting's "Suggested URL" box. Uncheck "Suggested URL" in each search engine and the nagging download prompt will go away. Why that's in there to begin with is a mystery to me.This review is for a previous version of the add-on (18.104.22.168-signed).
What I'm wondering is if this add-on is OK for FF 12 and higher. I got the speed problem fixed by starting in the safe mode and going back to all factory defaults. This review is for a previous version of the add-on (22.214.171.124-signed).
Unless I'm the one doing something wrong, so far I haven't seen this add-on work on ANY site, and all of them are checked in the options menu. A green screen pops up but no improvement is noticed regardless of what you do.This review is for a previous version of the add-on (0.6.4.1-signed).
The only thing I don't like about this add-on is the fact that, if you want to save just part of a page, it won't allow you to scroll down and grab what's not on the screen. You have to save the full page and use an editor to remove what you don't want. Is there an add-on that does that? This review is for a previous version of the add-on (2.1.1).
I've tried all these buying add-ons, and so far the best (or least worst) I've found is Similar Sites, which is not specifically for buying but has that feature as an add-on.This review is for a previous version of the add-on (3.1.5).
