Smart HTTPS

Pretty good but pretty serious design flaw Rated 3 out of 5 stars

Pretty good addon. Really allows me to watch all my favourite websites with as much https as possible. Some websites are a bit slower to load and a bit glitchy. But this does not get in the way of browsing.

Sadly the addon does not seem to sideload whitelisted domains to check for https support without slowing down the main browsing window/tab. Or being able to use https for a specific page on a domain/website. Either you add something to the whitelist. Or you always let the addon check and slow down your main browsing activity. There is no way to tell the addon to check for https support in a separate tab or window when visiting a whitelisted site. There is no button near the whitelist to have the addon check whitelisted sites for https support.

Good options too except the option for allowing automatic whitelisting in incognito, private mode. It seems to hold all information. No option to limit whitelisted sites in incognito/private mode to current session/window.

This shouldn't be an option. Smart Https already allows manual addition of domains. Allow only manual addition without automatic addition in private mode. Private mode is suppose to be private. And if you want to keep the option, make sure 'Enable incognito mode (private browsing)' is on by default.

Does what it says, works.
But no ability to limit search to specific folder(s).

Pure URL

Good but improvement possible Rated 3 out of 5 stars

Good addon. Very pleased with it's functionality. It removes a lot of garbage from url's.

However I would like to see more functionality.

Such as long url functionality for url shorteners.
Such as the Long URL Please Mod addon:
https://addons.mozilla.org/nl/firefox/addon/long-url-please-mod/

Conversion of obfuscated/chained links to short, direct links.
Such as the Clean Links addon:
https://addons.mozilla.org/nl/firefox/addon/clean-links/
More advanced url parameter removal specification using regex.
Also done in Clean Links addon.

Would like to see addition of url postfix and prefix replace and removal in the addon options.
With three column structure in the options page of the addon: optional domain, suffix, optional replace with.
For removal leave the optional replace with column empty.
For specifying suffix or prefix use the wildcard '*' before or after the suffix. E.g. *#Rnlv would be removing a postfix at the end of the url.
(And maybe this can be generalized to remove/replace things inside of a link using multiple '*' wildcards.

And because the addon is heavily inspecting url's, maybe control over redirect would be good to integrate as well.
As seen in NoRedirect
