I can't believe all of you cheap skates on here complaining about $7.99 fee. How much do you spend at Starbucks every year? And, it's only a suggested fee, it's not mandatory
I don't know if this is the original ad blocker. They used to call it Ad-Ban, not AdvertBan. The one I have , AdBan, seems to work pretty well with the exception that it blocks stuff you want on some websites. Sometimes it blocks the scripts for picture loading which you may want on some sites. It also blocks some java script for buttons that you might want. I have noticed this on my Yahoo account -- It will block some links. This is easily fixed by just clicking it off, but if you forgot what is causing the blockage of things you want, you might get a little frustrated.
The geniuses that designed this software have answered my prayers of ten years. Finally people out there understand an internet browser's pain. This ad-on is such a headache saver. No more flashing colors, dancing weirdos, and impeded space in some instances. The only thing is, sometimes you have to remember to turn it off, because it may block some scripting that you might want. (e.g. say you want to leave a comment on a news blog. The comments won't show no matter how many times you refresh the page if Ad-Ban is turned on.)So just remember, if something isn't displaying on a web page that you want to see, it's probably Ad-Ban that's blocking it.I don't know anything about what some reviewers are saying about this software requiring a fee now. I must have the old version. Even so, I would have gladly paid $9.99 for it. It's worth it. In my opinion, I think we need to get rid of the cheapskate whiners. This review is for a previous version of the add-on (1.8.1).
