Add-on Compatibility Reporter

From useful to useless in one single update... Rated 1 out of 5 stars

"The ACR's functionality has changed. It can no longer be used for force add-ons to be installed."

Wouldn't be such a problem if this did it's job:
""Default To Compatible" changes in Firefox 10+"

I don't mind reporting add-on's that work/don't work anymore, but if add-on's clearly work but cannot be activated by the built in 'Default To Compatible' feature, than users are left with quite a useless reporting tool with this add-on.

I understand the developer's reasons for this decision, I also understand that as a user I have nothing to gain with it. So, as a user I'll give two stars for trying to get an active community involvement, minus three stars for it's more than useless implementation because reporting working add-on's isn't visible in an actual working add-on as end result. Leaving that same community empty handed.

And again: Useful workarounds come from the community itself, developers have placed themselves outside that same community. That means I'll have to give this add-on a one star rating.

Microsoft .NET Framework Assistant

Rated 1 out of 5 stars

"Adds ClickOnce support and the ability to report installed .NET versions to the web server."

What does that actually mean? On all the web sites I've visited through the years, I never came across anything that came close to this description or that needed this add-on. Not once.

Or should I say 'NotOnce'?

And this watchamacallit needed to get pushed to all windows users that have .Net installed? Are you freakin' serious?

This is either something that serves a very small and unique user base on an exclusive niche market or it is just a HUGE waste of time, space, bandwidth and resources.

This piece of garbage doesn't deserve any star, AFAIC.

Add-ons Manager Dialog Returns

I'm very pleased with this. Thank you.

I prefer the separate window. After all, tabs ARE for web pages. :-)

Firefox Sync for Firefox 3.5/3.6

Rated 1 out of 5 stars

Horrible add-on. Horrible soon-to-be built-in feature. Seems to me this is nothing more than a pet project of some mozilla developers, fails in executing anything right (features & service) but still is here on AMO as if it's something to be trusted and favored. It's not. Do not believe the hype.

Install and/or use at own risk.

Targeted Advertising Cookie Opt-Out (TACO)

Rated 1 out of 5 stars

Additional comment on this 'Commercially Repacked Add-on Product':

I also noticed dramatic performance issues when viewing on-line content (video's and such). I presumed I had trouble with my Internet connection or it might be caused by some sort of trouble with some of the web sites.

However, these issues were completely resolved the minute after uninstalling this piece of 'natural evolution'.

Please note: There are no performance issues whatsoever with Beef TACO.

Beef Taco (Targeted Advertising Cookie Opt-Out)

Rated 5 out of 5 stars

I'm very happy to have the good old light weight TACO add-on back. Thank you so much.

The other 'TACO by Abine' had some dramatic performance issues when viewing on-line content (video's and such). These issues were resolved the minute I removed 'TACO by Abine'.

And to be clear: There are no performance issues with the Beef TACO add-on.

"WARNING - This is a major upgrade to TACO."
Oh, really? That could be considered as an untrue statement with intent to deceive.

Since the former lightweight TACO add-on is gone and replaced with something completely different that can only be described as a behemoth that has nothing to do with the former TACO add-on. Nobody asked for this, who is abine trying to please with this...?

So, it should state something like this:
"WARNING - This will replace TACO with something completely different that nobody asked for."

I'm appalled how this [...CENSORED...] ever saw the light on AMO under the TACO flag; abine should have done an ethically better job to get new users for their product and mozilla failed completely by approving the way TACO got removed and replaced by something else completely.

Uninstalling...

Personas Plus

Rated 1 out of 5 stars

It's a buggy extension from mozilla labs (yeah, show 'm how it's done!) that also got built in FF somehow for displaying some wallpapers in your browser menu's which you can fetch on a web site that seems to approve almost anything and everything as a suitable wallpaper. (Have look at the recently approved section, just to entertain yourself.)

AFAIC it should not have left the lab. Ever. So I could've ignored it far, far more easily. (Like in the days the support for this silly fluff-stuff wasn't built in FF. Ah... Those were the days...)

Annoying bug in 2.0.2; causes Firefox (3.5.7) to hang.

Try the workaround that Daniel Folkinshteyn posted, or disable/uninstall this add-on altogether until fix/update is published by the developer of this add-on.

FoxyTunes

Rated 1 out of 5 stars

Reluctantly I updated this one (after numerous update notifications I ignored).

I'm regretting it already...
The player icon (which I still don't like, but I am willing to live with it) still doesn't hide WinAmp when in winshade mode. What a drag.

FYI: Version 3.0.4 of FT does that without any problem. Rolling back. Again.

3 stars for the effort.

Still reverting back to 0.59 of Stylish.

Rethink the new 'Select Player'-button, please. It's clearly a selection button. But, it's also an icon placeholder and a show/hide button (the latter only recently came to my attention).

The hide functionality doesn't work with Winamp in winshade mode, so it's quite useless in that case.

I don't need a selection button nor an icon placeholder. I do want to use a simple, small, clean and fully working show/hide button.

Rolling back to 3.0.4.
