Hard to believe this extension isn't more widely used than it is. I need this function all the time, with dozens of tabs open. Simple, fast, and it just works.
Caveat: since I upgraded to Fx 3.0.3, the Ctrl+Alt+T shortcut seems to have been overridden by the Duplicate Tab command. But I don't think that's Tabhunter's fault.
2.0.95: "Increased maximum length of bookmark notes to 1000 characters".
Woohoo! Woohoo! Woohoo!
Thankyou Thankyou Thankyou!!
Trying to cram my notes about a page into 256 chars was driving me batty!
I have been wanting a vertical list of tabs for quite a while. I get 30-50 tabs open, and a side-by-side tab list is just unmanageable. Thank you!
One suggestion: the tagline "Adds vertical tabs" just doesn't communicate clearly. (It's like "Tile vertically" in MS Word menus... you could interpret it multiple ways.) The tabs themselves are not vertical. The tabs *list* is vertical. So a clearer tagline would be "Stack tabs vertically" or "Vertical tabs list".
On another topic... if you want a feature suggestion, here's one: put a filter box at the bottom of the sidebar, like Showcase has. This would make it even easier to search for the tab you want, among many.
Keep up the good work!
Great idea. This plug-in gives me the benefit of having related tabs together, without the extra work of moving them around.
I use this with Vertigo (vertical tabs).
Like someone else said, it would be nice to adjust the granularity of grouping, so that a.b.c.org was grouped with d.c.org. Ideal would be a multi-level sort: sort by top-level domain first (e.g. org vs com), then second-level, etc., then by URL. (But I guess sorting is a different issue than grouping.)
Anyway, you could have an option to separate tabs with different 3rd-level domains, or only separate them if the 2nd-level domain is different...
Also, as others have said, it would be good to get rid of separators when the tabs they were separating have gone away.
Finally, when using this with Vertigo (vertical tab list), it would be very nice to have the separators be thin lines, instead of full-text-height.
Thanks again for a useful extension.
I like this add-on. Quite convenient.
An enhancement I would like to see is hovering over the "Severe weather alert" icon to see what type of alert it is (e.g. Flood warning), without having to open a new tab and go to the web page. This may be difficult to do by screen scraping, as the severe weather alert content on Accuweather is not logically formatted.
I agree with "Oscaron" that it would be good to enable different data sources. E.g. http://www.weather.gov/alerts/wwarssget.php?zone=TXZ119
(XML feed of alerts, by "zone".) Or wunderground... their severe weather alert content looks favorable to screen scraping (e.g. flood warning is FLO, high winds are WND).
Maybe if the data-retrieval part is modularized out, different contributors could write those components for the data sources they wanted.
