My Reviews

Forecastfox (fix version)

Rated 5 out of 5 stars

So glad this is back. It's a shame it uses Accu-Weather (which isn't accurate), but that's not the developer's fault.

The radar view alone is worth it, and it's clean and smooth. Awesome!

Folder Pane View Switcher

Rated 4 out of 5 stars

Quite good, but missing a key feature: the ability to choose what views it switches between.

There are seven of them to scroll through(!), including compact versions of some. I wish I could choose to only switch between, say, All Folders and Favorite Folders, without having to scroll through so many others.

Despite that shortcoming this is a terrific add-on, and replaces a function that for whatever reason was removed from Thunderbird.

1.6 version works, but it's awful Rated 2 out of 5 stars

A great reader ruined by a poorly designed update.

The new version (which now works with the latest Firefox) changed the interface to a messy, confusing jumble.

Reading a list of unread items, you have choices: mark read, read, see excerpt, delete. But these choices are randomly placed. To read, hover and click a small arrow that appears. To mark read, click a large check mark that's always visible. To see an excerpt, click the title. To read the whole thing, click the title, then when the excerpt appears click it again. To delete, there's a large X.

When you see the interface, you'll understand: It's as user-UNfriendly as possible. What's worse is that older versions had much better design. And to top it off, Brief's forums, where you could suggest changes, are broken -- you can't register to post.

Sadly, it's time to move on to a better reader.

Save Complete

Rated 5 out of 5 stars

A nice alternative to Scrapbook, and I love that it replaces Firefox's built-in command. My context menu is already crowded! Two nice tweaks would be the ability to change the storage folder -- right now it only saves to Firefox's default download location -- and the ability to choose .html or .htm for the extension. But those are minor nits.

Menu Editor

Wonderful -- but I second the request for importing and exporting!

Sadly, with the latest Thunderbird beta, the Enigmail bug has reappeared: When it's enabled, the Delete button's icon disappears. Otherwise, this is wonderful!

Ought to be included with Thunderbird itself.
This is one of those simple, effective, and must-have add-ons, especially for those of us using IMAP. Only nit: The word "MultiXpunge" is too darned long on the button. :)

Remember Mismatched Domains

Blessings upon you and your family. And camels. Or whatever. FINALLY the nightmare of those warnings has ended!

Azerty III

Little problem with Tab Mix Plus Rated 4 out of 5 stars

I noticed that in FF3, Azerty III doesn't like Tab Mix Plus. The close tab icon bumps the right side of the tab, and when you hover over it, the "X" kind of shifts sideways and looks funky.

It would be more helpful if people reviewed the *product* rather than offer an opinion about what it does.

If you don't like nannyware like this (and I don't), that's fine. But giving a product a bad review because you don't like what it does isn't fair.
