My Reviews

LastPass Password Manager

Rated 2 out of 5 stars

I got LastPass for the multiplatform support and sync but I'm seriously looking for alternatives by the time my current premium subscription runs out because of the declining Firefox support. How weird is it that you need the binary component for many of the basic features (copy username/password) of the extension to work but this is not mentioned anywhere in the description on this very extension page? I've been sticking with LastPass through the Quantum update waiting patiently for things to get better and I just found out about this.

Google Keep Notes

Rated 2 out of 5 stars

Seems like this would be useful but it doesn't work for me. The toolbar button does nothing. The toolbar button's context menu option "Google Keep Notes" opens the sidebar and shows the orange header line but then only gray. No content. The hamburger menu works but it's also empty. The only things that work are the icons linking to other Google products and the button to Sign out.

Reload in address bar

Works, but doesn't respect theme colors. This userChrome.css snippet makes it use the browser's icons and colors.

Awesome RSS

A "page action button" if there ever was one. Rated 5 out of 5 stars

Good to see WebExtensions allow stuff like this. The standard Subscribe button is a waste of space most of the time and using userChrome.css to hide it while disabled moves and/or resizes toolbar elements once an RSS feed becomes available.

Funny how the built-in button seems tacked on and this extension is so seamless.

Private Tab

Keep on keeping on Rated 4 out of 5 stars

Can't seem to update my older review to let's add a couple of points here:

+ The ability to toggle a tab between private and regular is great!

+ Quick response from the developer fixing the missing favicons bug.

- Still wishing pinned private tabs would remain across sessions and open with their initial URL.

Private Tab

It's getting there Rated 4 out of 5 stars

First thing's first: after a morning spent debugging the issue, I found this extension kills the site icons from all browser tabs except internal ones (like Options and Add-ons) on Firefox 50.

The basic functionality is nice. No need to tie a temporary session to a whole another window. It would be nice to be able to pin a private tab with a starting URL so that it would remain across sessions.

Desktop Messenger for WA (WhatsApp™)

Looking pretty good so far Rated 4 out of 5 stars

But why cap the dimensions? Especially the vertical would benefit from a "100%" setting to always extend down to window/screen height.

Being able to zoom out and make the text smaller would fit more in view.

(Also, a docked-to-the-side view option (like the dev tools for example) could be nice in some instances to keep an active chat in view while working in the browser.)

keyword.URL Hack!

Rated 4 out of 5 stars

Not supposed to post bug reports but there's no contact info. This extension works fine but it seems to break the OK button in the Manage Search Engine List window after changing the engine order. The button doesn't close the window or save the new order when this extension is active. (Restarting makes a difference.)

Restart Firefox

One of the essentials Rated 4 out of 5 stars

Chiming in with a praising review just to note that 0.6b3 starts to work in FF20 after you wiggle with the confirmation setting in the extension's options and restart.

Rated 4 out of 5 stars

Pretty good. The button tooltip could further clarify whether the print dialog is suppressed or not. And it seems to have introduced some page repaint issues in Firefox 16.

Add Bookmark Here ²

Rated 4 out of 5 stars

Great! Just found this and as I'm configuring it, it's making Firefox bookmarks usable again since what, version 2? What I love especially is being able to skip Unsorted Bookmarks by customizing the default bookmark location and to remove all the clutter from the bookmarks menu.

New Old Menu

Does what it's supposed to, but breaks Locationbar²'s preferences.

FF3 again Rated 4 out of 5 stars

Great extension but nonfunctional at the moment. 5 stars -1 for lack of support. The fix suggested here a couple of times is nice and easy, and works for many simple extensions. But not for this one, does it? I've tried it several times, Firefox wants a restart, after which the extension should be usable but it isn't and it doesn't appear in Addons > Extensions. There is no error or version conflict, after all that's what editing the .rdf was about.

Full Screen Homestar Runner

0.5 > 2.0 Rated 4 out of 5 stars

Not pleased with 2.0 here. The visible resizing is annoying and the final size is nowhere near fullscreen. So that's 2 minus points for the previously worth-a-10 extension.
