Frikkin' Awesome! Just what I always wanted. Thank you!
I searched for this so many times, but never found your add-on. I was tired of having to click Tools>Options>Security>Saved Passwords>Show Passwords, so was searching for a shortcut button, and stumbled upon this! Not only can do all the editing functions I want, it also has that shortcut button I was looking for when I found it.
For those who just want a shortcut button: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/92086/
I'd say the one thing I don't like about this has got to be the icon. I do like the key icon from the add-on above, so I've created an alternative skin: http://write-me.org/downloads/xpi/spe_skin.zip
To install, unzip to: \profile\extensions\email@example.com\chrome\skin\
To uninstall, re-install SPE.
What I'd like to see is a way to configure it by file extension. Ideally, modify the Tools>Options>Applications to have "Use Associated" as an option in the list of options.

Then, it would only need the prompts for executable files. Better yet, add executable files to list of content types! This review is for a previous version of the add-on (2.1.4).
For those who are looking for a FFx 3.6 upgrade, and are okay modifying the install.rdf, the best thing to do is uninstall, change both the FFx version, as well as the addon version, and re-install.
Or, you could get my copy "Show Anchors v2.3" at:
I love this extension. It's not pretty, it does stuff I'll never need, but it does what I need it to do perfectly. I just need to send someone a link that points to the named anchor, so they don't have to find what part of the page I'm referencing.
Every so often I get annoyed with this because my mouse aim has been off, and uninstall it. A few months later, I might decide to install it again. Maybe it wouldn't be so annoying if I knew keyboard shortcut for putting the caret in focus in the searchbox. It probably exists; one of these days I'll look it up. It is a well-done extension.
I'd like to see something like this for the address bar? Does it exist?
Much better alternative to iGoogle. Excellent way to maximize space. Clean looking. Lots of program options. Thank you.
Takes a while to redraw the page after gmail loads (longer the more sections you have, obviously). Changing the size doesn't seem to do anything for me. Would be nice to be able to add own favicons and other visual styling elements.
In addition to the current defaults, here are some common ones:
Contacts - Custom - http://www.google.com/contacts
Tasks - Gadget - http://www.google.com/ig/modules/tasks.xml
Docs - Gadget - www.google.com/ig/modules/docs.xml
Talk - Gadget - http://www.google.com/ig/modules/googletalk.xml (haven't tested this, this to see if it will post two messages to the browser window every time).
I'm not sure I get how to load "built-in" gadgets, or gadgets that take UserPrefs for example:
Weather - http://www.google.com/ig/modules/builtin_weather.xml (considered a "built-in" gadget that also takes UserPrefs - zip code, specifically)
Fish - http://fishgadget.googlecode.com/svn/trunk/fish.xml (works without UserPrefs, but would still like to be able to pass the user prefs through)
Very happy with it, and it works simply.
It appears not to add Search Suggestions, though. I'd really like to see the Search Suggestions (aka AutoComplete, etc) capability added in.
I was trying to add for http://www.netflix.com/WiHome (which does have SearchAutoComplete), using FFx 3.0.6 on XP Professional.
This doesn't appear to add any offline browsing capability to FFx. It appears to be a simple shortcut and indicator. As such, it works fine.
I was hoping it would add the ability to browse from cache. It doesn't appear to do this any more than the native (File>Work Offline) method.
Also, like another review stated, it should have the ability to be persistent between browser sessions (implemented as an option/preference).
Love the extension. Nice and simple.
FFx 3, though, the developer says he has issues:
"April 8, 2008 - 20:20 PDT
Extension updates for Firefox 3.0 are on the horizon. I'm going to have to change the GUIDs, though, to be compatible with the FUEL preference support, so I'm going to have to figure out how to make it easy for users to get the new versions. I'm also in serious crunch time at work, so please forgive the dust..."
Changing the MaxVersion worked just fine for me. I think it might be more of an issue with version releases. I know I've tried to make edits to the extension version of other extensions, and FFx spits them out as being incompatible ...
The only other link to a modified xpi that installs on 3 is unreliable (too many users from your ip error), and makes you wait. I made my own:
It seems that there is no English forum, except here.
able to faviconize based on url filter list
a shortcut button to Faviconize the current tab, and a shortcut button to bring up an auto-faviconize dialog
* Compatibility with TMP Session Restore
it's not really supportive to say "use the built-in Session Restore" if you want your tabs to stay faviconized
* Custom Favicon
for the not-so-unique favicons out there, it would be nice to give them a custom one. I think there's another extension that may do this; I'd have to look.
This is a handy tool, but appears to simply replace the page:
in a nice interface.
Like the other reviews mentioned, the more texts it can search, the better. Personally, I would like to see a search of English translations.
I never would've found Mechon-Mamre.org if it weren't for this plugin, though. Thanks for making it accessible.
