My Reviews

No Coin

Rated 1 out of 5 stars

Assume PROJECT ABANDONED. No developer activity on github since Feb 2018. blacklist.txt embedded in the extension XPI is 02/25/18 which cannot be expected as effective by any standard.

eCleaner (Forget Button)

Rated 2 out of 5 stars

Needs "Active Logins" clear, as the one in the resident Clear All History dialogue, shift-crtl-delete. This is a major omission in an otherwise good extension.

eCleaner extension wiped ALL THIRTY SIX LOGINS in my profile, so yes, the "dangerous" warning is drop-dead serious. (Bet you're thinking I didn't back up my profile before testing this. I did.)

I'm with bsiege: I'm looking to replace CZ.NIC Labs' excellent DNSSEC/TLSA Validator. (In use since, Nov. 2016, currently in use with Cyberfox x64 52.6.1 portable under Windows 7 and Quad9 DNS.) DNSSEC *and* TLSA validation.

Rating: five stars for proof of concept; minus three for google.

In Mozilla's quest to make its browser more "secure," it disabled the ability to run extensions to make sure it's doing so and the ones to force it to do so if needed.

I'll be revisiting this page to check on your progress. Thanks for your efforts with hopes for success.

Clear Cache and Data

Rated 1 out of 5 stars

This does not clear active logins as in "Clear All History" in Options or Shift-Ctrl-Delete. Instead it wipes out Saved Logins.
I was hoping this would work like the pre-57:

A first-rate Extension Rated 5 out of 5 stars

I've been running Flagfox for a long time.

With the 5.1.27 update I got a white on red ? for everything and selecting Geotool presented a Captcha page with a note to update Firefox even though I'm running 55.0.3.

I reverted to 5.1.26 and ignored the update in about:addons Available Updates. (Updates are set to manual.)

Today I have three Flagfox's in about:addons - one in Extensions (of course) and two in Available Updates.

Problem is each one's More shows 5.1.26, September 21, 2017. I don't know if that's a Mozilla bug or otherwise an oversight.

I removed 27, restarted and installed 29 and All Is OK.

Keep up the good work Dave G. Developing for Mozilla is a pain. Hang in there.

Canvas Defender

Breaks Google & Others Rated 1 out of 5 stars

In use without issue since v1.0.6 (5 Stars!), 1.1.0 breaks google and several web sites so far. Need to whitelist,, etc. (merely doesn't work). And as one example. It's too tedious to figure out a site needs it and then entering it manually. Reverting to 1.0.9. Thank you.

Disable HTML5 Autoplay

Rudimentary is Good Rated 5 out of 5 stars

A perfect replacement for the abandoned and broken Flash Control, first on the scene to manipulate HTML5. It was overkill for me as Flash as not been allowed on any systems I own for almost five years.

In a way, it is good FC is abandoned as it lead me to this extension which does exactly what it is supposed to do.

I don't have need for white/blacklisting tho I understand those who do might want an efficient manager.

e10s/Electrolysis/multiprocess support enabled!

Mozilla 50.0.1 - Win7x64

Flash Control

Broken in FF 50.0. Rated 1 out of 5 stars

(Perfect replacement: "Disable HTML5 Autoplay"
You'll need to run it in parallel with some other Flash manager if your system is not HTML5-only.)

Blocking is OK with FC and Mozilla 50.0.x, but...

Click the orange V shield and "An error occurred. Please try again later."

To see the YouTube vid, one must select disable from the toolbar button.

Tweaking settings in Config or adding exception to - no fix.

Also no e10s/Electrolysis/multiprocess support tho setting browser.tabs.remote.autostart to false is no fix.

No updates since February 2016.

No activity in blueskyy's mozilla-community discourse since May.

One must assume this add-on support/development is abandoned.

Trustwave SecureBrowsing

New Version in the Works Rated 5 out of 5 stars

I've confirmed with support this extension's failure indeed began with FF 47. They indicated they are working on a "new app" though it's not clear when or if the update will occur within this extension construct or if it will be a completely new extension.

Flash Control

Flash Control still not OK with Cyberfox Rated 1 out of 5 stars

2.0.7 and 2.1.0 (the latter having disappeared from the history list) displays orange V shield, 2.1.3 does not.

I don't have Flash installed, so I cannot comment on the F shield.

I have to load the 2.1.0 xpi from the features folder to avoid with certainty any Add-ons Manager snafus.

The shield is still absent in 2.1.4.

cyscon Security Shield

Broken Connectivity = Broken Extension Rated 1 out of 5 stars and are both down and have been for some time. The cyscon domain used for the cloud component is now just connecting to a generic IP sub-domain at This extension just appears to be working. It is not working. Sad, as it was worth five stars.

Trustwave SecureBrowsing

Trust Trustwave Rated 5 out of 5 stars

This worked A-OK in FF 36 and continues to work in 43 as well as currently in Cyberfox Intel 64-bit Portable 46.

It's always worked great since it was SB2 and M86.

Just recently there was an issue connecting to their lookup server. I used their Web contact form to file a report and it was fixed right away.

Trustwave is one of the leading edge security providers in the industry. This highly compatible free extension provides a premium service - ignore it at your own risk.

It works in Google, Bing and Yahoo! And Facebook. As well "behind the scenes" in other areas; visit their Web site for the full details.

Technically, if you trust the reputation services they themselves claim to provide, ixquick (StartPage), duckduckgo and other engines like them don't need Trustwave. And neither do you if all you want is search engine reputation. Trustwave is much more than that.

Privacy Badger

Rated 5 out of 5 stars

This addons site is not maintained nor does the "Check for Updates" in 0.1.4 work in the browser Add-ons Manager.

Latest updates available only here:
Version 0.2.5 as of this posting.
Has many improvments over 0.1.4.

Toolbar button OK in v36.0.

This is a superb privacy tool and takes care of the "bits and pieces" missed by Ghostery and AdBlock+ Easy List & Privacy.

Flash Control

Rated 5 out of 5 stars

I concur with IcemanSR: a worthy successor of old flashblock. I dumped Adobe Flash on all my systems last year and Flash Control is exactly what I needed to handle HTML5.

It works A-OK in Cyberfox 64-bit Portable which is what I switched to when I got fed up with Palemoon.

•For those of us not Ajaxian, what is the purpose of "Override Ajax Anchor"? I've tried it on and off in youtube and what it does just doesn't seem readily apparent.

Windows 7 HP SP1 x64
Firefox ESR 31.1.1
On this system Flash is NOT installed.
On sites where a player auto-runs, Flashblock 1.5.17 blocks only the video; audio still plays. On sites not auto-run, video is static (still image) or blacked-out while audio plays. This needs some serious fixing.

Still works OK on systems with Flash.

No releases in 18+ months, tho. Has development been abandoned??

Rated 5 out of 5 stars

I've been following the whole DNSSEC thing for a long time.

I'm assuming this extension works as I see the green "Secured by DNSSEC" and "Certificate corresponds to TLSA" icons in the address bar for But that's it.

All my banking and commerce sites (Bank of America, Wells Fargo, PayPal, Amazon, eBay, etc. etc. etc. etc.), Google, Bing... nada. All "Not secured by DNSSEC." Same for the dozens and dozens and dozens of sites I've visited.

Only one,, is Secured, but is "Non-existent TLSA record."

I've used all the Resolver settings, system and "without," and, and - no difference in results.

So that just leaves me to wonder what the heck is the Big Deal about DNSSEC? Why is no one using it??

Unfortunately, its disuse renders this DNSSEC extension as nothing more than a novelty. But that doesn't mean it deserves less than five stars.

How about that TBird 10.0?? Rated 5 out of 5 stars

When TB 10.0?? Who cares about "just check the relevant Silvermel forum for download link" to some get pre-trunk-r thing. Whatever that is and don't care. Don't make me look for another theme! :) :)

Close but no cigar. Rated 2 out of 5 stars

Uninstalled. After several months of use, I got tired of seeing "no results" from their servers. Like a security company that fails to answer the phone half the time - what good is it? Perspectives is a noble effort and I wish them luck as they move forward.
