The desktop version has been part of my Firefox install for a long time, but as Mozilla Sync has improved LastPass started feeling more obstructive than anything else. As someone else mentioned, it also visibly impact Firefox's startup & running efficiency when compared with it not running.
The Android version hosed Firefox completely: every page loaded white. The content was there, and reacted to some actions, but refused to display. Even about:addons was hosed, so i had to long-tap all over to disable every addon, restart the browser, and uninstall LastPass.
i'm still not fully happy with Firefox's built-in password manager, so i'm shopping around for others.
Still (referring to original F1 project) only connects to Twitter, Facebook, & GMail. The share dialog does not resize to display complete content (go to Facebook panel, click on the drop list for what feed to post to, the list drops below the lower boundary of the dialog). Initially opened the dialog on one page, then canceled & went to another page. The link was accurate (new page), but the page title & thumbnail were from the previous page.
Obviously, it's in Alpha development, so i do expect improvements, eventually.
Thank you for your work to get this extension updated! 1.9 is working great.
For those using Firefox betas, add "versions/" to the end of the addon's URL, as 1.9 is listed as possibly incompatible with 13beta.
i wrote a review quite a while ago where i thought the goo.gl account issue was cookie-related. However, i'm seeing other reviews that indicate version 1.8 has stopped sending shortened URLs to the user's Google account. This seems to be the case for me as well, and even leaving cookie permissions wide open has not fixed it.
This is an essential add-on, and it DOES function, but i can't give it 5 stars as it's been stagnant for a while & i don't seem to be alone with the spotty account link-up. i really wish someone could pick up the Goo.gl extension for Chrome & port it to Firefox.
Hopefully the developer or someone in the community can offer some help (the developer's home page no longer exists, either).
With the developer's clarification, i downgraded from the 1.8 version, and am getting URLs sent to my account again. Rating adjusted accordingly, and great thanks for the response!
First review attempt threw an error...Sorry if this duplicates.
@IsoNick The goo,gl API requires a key specific to your account to store shortened URLs for you. This extension (and all others i've seen that offer goo,gl shortening) don't have a user setting to provide the API key. And i don't even know if it's possible to open it as a user setting.
Hopefully this developer will do an update if it is possible. For a couple reasons:
1. Users get their shortened URLs stored in their Google accounts
2. Minimizes privacy concerns that the developer isn't feeding his own API key and (mostly anonymously) harvesting URLs into his own Google account.
Anyway, 4 stars for now, the 5th given for being able to provide my own API key. i like the feature of being able to do my own bitly OAuth, but i prefer goo,gl.
+1 for being able to relocate. Everything else seems to be migrating away from the bottom of the window as Firefox evolves, might as well make this capable of it, too.
Also, the Open Downloads Folder menu item isn't available on an active download. Would be nice to have back.
Thanks for this addon!
Now this does everything i need it to. Thanks!!This review is for a previous version of the add-on (1.6). This user has other reviews of this add-on.
Great tool. Used to use Shorten URL, but no update for FF4 yet. Only thing i would ask of this extension is a context menu item for images similar to "Copy Image URL". Thanks! This review is for a previous version of the add-on (1.5).
My biggest beef with Picnik is how long it takes the online app to load, and it has to reload from scratch EACH time a new image is opened. This extension has two very simplistic options: whole page, or visible page. No area selection. And then it's wait........for the online app to load to crop it down, annotate, etc.
Picnik is a great editor once it loads, but i think Google made a mistake. i hope they do some significant work to embed it better into Picasa Web & Desktop.
Categories, and save path by category, would be nice touch. Otherwise, a very handy tool. This review is for a previous version of the add-on (1.0.7).
Very slick, polished theme. One small thing: the window-level horizontal scroll bar doesn't hide when not needed. Otherwise, excellent work. This review is for a previous version of the add-on (1.2.2).
Just wanted to help counter the two morons who haven't read any of the research and disagree with a sweeping majority of scientists who know more about it than they do.This review is for a previous version of the add-on (0.1.7).
Apparently some are having some intermittent luck with this extension, but i'm experiencing the same problem in one of the "discussions" (one post, one reply): Thunderbird shows an RTF attachment and the winmail.dat, but does not parse either to a full message body. The reply suggests marking the message pane for viewing, which i already had.
It's a great idea, but not much help on execution.
