Adblock Plus

One of the best add-ons Rated 5 out of 5 stars

Very effective add-on and quite easy to use. Making your own blocking rules may be a bit challenging for some people, but luckily the lists you can subscribe to basically blocks everything. It's also nice that you can white-list domain/pages you trust, to support them with ad revenue.
The recent move to allow non-intrusive ads may have angered some, and I guess it could end badly, but for now I think it's a great way to put pressure on the ad companies to make ads that follow user-friendly guidelines. Should you disagree, you can still choose to block everything.

Shareaholic | share with Google, Facebook and more

Needs an update Rated 3 out of 5 stars

Does what is says - helps you quickly share via various channels. Lets you customize which sites you want to use. Only really useful if you share a lot. However, it needs an update for newer sharing sites (it still has Google Buzz, but no Google+).

FireGestures

Powerful Navigation Rated 5 out of 5 stars

Very useful when working with a simple mouse (no forwards/backwards buttons) - simply right click and hold, while dragging left or right instead. It has a lot more functionality and customization, but I mainly use it for basic navigation. Can't say I've tried all alternative add-ons - only that I haven't felt the need to do so!

NoScript Security Suite

Worth getting to know! Rated 5 out of 5 stars

This add-on takes its job of making the web safer for the user seriously. Some might find it annoying to white-list sites, and it sure would be nice if it could use Sync to share them among different computers, but I think the payoff is worth it. I haven't really looked into it, but I think you still gain some protection, even if you allow scripts globally after installing (for those of you who cant be bothered by white-listing).
