Not the best. While still good enough.
It's very useful in many cases and very light and handy.
1) These buttons are larger then native (both for "small" and "large" icons mode) and screws up the statusbar either any toolbar where placed
2) It doesn't work with anything except "pure" DOM.
For example on the ScrapBook "combine" operation result page it's impossible to remove any of the yellow headers (wrapped into <cite class="scrapbook-header">...</cite>)
It was 5-stars but now (on a 24-esr) it simply does nothing.
And nobody had forked it at github.
It just works, no more, no less.
It's works per-url instead of global. And it's better then any Glype proxies like Proxilla etc. because it didn't messes urls. And it's far better then a bunch of "proxy-list" super-mega-shi^W addons.
Unfortunately (hey, devs! look on this)
1) it's aimed mostly on a proxy-all way of use and because of this it's a bit hard to setup when proxying only a limited set of sites and
2) here is no way nor to create profiles for a 3-rd or greater level domains (only 2-nd level) nor to edit already created profiles nor to refresh services list to show correct speeds (speeds wrong when FF was started when a network been loaded with something).
But anyway it's the best addon in its class.
RE on RE:
Nils, glad You agreed with me, at least in basis.
In my example I use aX on a few domains only and when I need to add one more domain I should to 0) open aX panel 1) select this domain in profiles dropdown 2) dismiss popup about new profile created 3) check "active" mark 4) reject cookie clearing prompt 5) select "main" profile 6) press "cancel' in the warning 7) un-check "active" mark. Sure "this is not the best way" (to not say more). Will wait for UI improvements (not "features" but improvements) with impatience.
Fully agreed to prev. comment. This review is for a previous version of the add-on (1.0).
i had a pair or three buttons that's very useful for me dragged onto tabbar too -- and their didn't visible.
except this it's looks like a good "just works"-styled enhancement
This is a musthave tool. But.
Sometimes during multilevel capture it's impossible to deselect some urls nor via filter nor manually nor somehow.
So currently I had to have both SB and SB+ installed and swith between them as needed. And it's very annoying.
After a some point of 15.x branch (IIRC) the red highlighting in DOM-Eraser mode didn't work -- it still shows a pointed elements tooltip but didn't draw a red frame around it. This found on the two different machines. And the same still up to the current 16-beta6.
An original SB works fine but has a bug with a multilevel capture filters while SB+ allows extremely fine tuning of them.
Now I have both SB+ and SB installed and swithing between them as needed. And this is very annoying.
very handy for a quick page "makeup".
still waiting for a two additional features: "isolate" and "relax width" (like in Platypus IIRC)
Unfortunately their team a bit lazy -- current main site version not 4.0.6 but 4.1.0
Excellent and very handy. Currently I use a Pano popup only and removed both standard tablist and panorama buttons from toolbar.
With a "hibernation" feature already here -- WHY NOT to make an autoUNloading of unused tabs by timer?
WARNING: this... well, nothing to say abt addon itself -- but a serverside script creates a file <config.php> near to self *automatically* without *any* warnings/confirmations *regardless* of such file already here.
This killed my CMS in a few seconds. Serverside should b used inside of own directory only.
it allows only one mark operation then freezes
claimed 10.x compatibility is false -- it's /install/ compat. ONLY
WinXP, Foxes from Aurora 9 to current Beta 11.
Didn't remeber exact urls but tested quickly on a some simple pages like mozdev or local files.
The issue was the same like before when I'd installed last previous version with compat checks disabled: after a first try to mark, regardless of via toolbar button or context menu, ext "freezes" in a "mark" state and I can't nor turn it off via toolbar nor make a next marks -- everything like a one review below (https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/addon/web-marker/reviews/328927/)
JFYI: for everyboddy interested here is a version bumped to Fox12
This good by self addon repeats a parts of both "More Tools" and "Extension options menu" functionality and do this well.
But currently it can't replace them completely while still conflicts with them.
1) It frequently places itself at the end of "statusbar" icons regardless of user customization
2) Unfortunately here is no any integration nor with standard nor URL Tooltip generated tooltips
3) No appearance customization
4) writen by previous reviewer
Anyway 4 stars (but one in credit)
upd: credit star cleared
OK, now it's more "standalone" and even works offline.
Unfortunately seems like this, uhm... thing uses an ancient Mozilla methods and interfaces so sometimes it a bit buggy in the interface part
This WAS a handy extension but currently it's a kind of zen (does nothing)
5 stars to correct strange thing that last "reviewers" during their dick comparisons^W^W review process rates this addon by 1 while it still works and works fine. (on the applicable versions). This user has a previous review of this add-on.
Excellent very handy add-on.
Missed an abilities to
1) change a protocol
2) delete some parts *in the middle* of url (like a subdomain part do at the beginning) and selectively discard http request *parts* instead of entire request
Also in the protocol-dropdown some about: urls are absent in the list while some in the FF itself.
Anyway -- it's excellent
Seems this addon dead :(
Automatic UN-loading of tabs WAS a very useful feature...
