My Reviews

NetVideoHunter Downloader

Version 1.9.5 working in FF16.0.2 Rated 5 out of 5 stars

In the past I've always tried to manually download videos but I'm just getting tired of that. NetVideoHunter is simple, unintrusive and the preview capability is a nice if unessential feature. One option I would like to see in the future is to be able to set the default quality.

The lastest version (1.9.5) works fine for Youtube in FF16.0.2 for me.

This review is for a previous version of the add-on (1.9.5).

PrivacySuite

Same product as TACO Rated 3 out of 5 stars

Summary: don't install the "TACO" addon along side "PrivacySuite". Below is a copy of my comments for the TACO addon.

My primary reason for posting is a warning not to install this addon with "PrivacySuite". I thought they were seperate products but there are the same (confirmed by extracting files from xpi's). If you do, neither will work. While I'm here a quick review of v3.20.

Note: I ONLY tested the "opt out & block" feature. If you're after a simple solution this is a resonable first effort, though a little glitchy. Nothing serious, the privacy info screen would on occassion show an empty dialog and for the first few pages the alert popup incorrectly showed zero counts.

From my perspective if you're already using NoScript, BetterPrivacy, RequestPolicy etc TACO doesn't really add anything useful. Of course the other features my be of greater value to you than for myself.

This review is for a previous version of the add-on (0.675).
