it works with the location bar enchancer and seam to do the job right. just the thing i needed
using firefox 22
this addon seams to have it all covered.
speed dial, background image, css, export/import of settings, undo the last closed tabs, quickly add a tab to super start, groups of tabs.. really just right. the speed dial page i needed and i can now disable a few other addons and somewhat simplify firefox.
awesome! and works if you middle click the colorful search tab, the results will open in new tab like with links. this is excellent.
i've tried it with default search engines setup on firefox 22
-it doesn't work with this review input field, but it works with the title field on this page i'm writing in
-i don't know is this a problem with the addon or something else, but it causes high cpu usage sometimes and can freeze for a while. maybe its some compatibility problem with other addons or just my setup alone.
i hope you keep improving this addon, the idea is great. a worthy addon.
it would be nice if i could change the url where home points. currently it can only load the old favorite sites speed dial interface
it would be also nice if you are able to select which places you want to show in the bottom ribbon and which to hide, and organise them by drag and drop or similar
maybe too much, but it would be nice that you can redirect everything that you open from context menus and browser, and that is supported by this page, to open in the page instead. just an idea, you could make it optional
having all these things in a newtab page, especially the beatiful settings screen is really nice. excellent addon but could use more customization options. 5 stars for the idea.
works with firefox 22.
excellent! using firefox 22. excellent addon.
excellentThis review is for a previous version of the add-on (1.2.1-signed).
it would be useful if the status bar could be set to pop up at top of the page below the url bar, its easier to see.
changing background color does not update untill you disable custom style and re-enable it.
classic statusbar style does not seam to show at all and it was the default setting
it could be nice if the separators could have a custom color or be hidden or automatically styled according to background color, rather then same as text color.
being that the interface is only colored, it looks kind of painted, some graphics could be nice like glass overlay frames or something other?
you could also provide toolbar buttons/controls of sidebar feature like dl speed, dl page/page total etc as an alternative use of this addon, if thats even possible for addon to do?
its a nice addon, i am looking for something to display these informations but i think it needs more options for making it more compact/take less space and possibly some graphic bitmaps default presets for appeareance for the statusbar, in case you are not using any theme that style this. just some ideas to help development
also, the wasd keys don't smooth scroll while the arrow keys can.
the addon idea is great, i was wondering about the possibility to scroll with wasd at times and the default key bindings are very well set
you can learn a lot about regexp starting from here.
use the try it editor for quick preview of what exactly happens. its really not as hard as you may think.
note: i haven't used the addon, i'm just offering help on regexp for all the people that miss this addon. i like the said features of this addon. the idea of previewing redirection urls and using it preview any short url redirection is really great.
it is a good idea and an okay addon but i guess it needs some improvement to be used better.
-maybe an option to ignore the focused/active tab and only stop spinners of inactive/background tabs
the problem i am having is that i am on a slow connection but i do get idle tabs that hang sometimes. the idea of stopping these background idle tabs from hogging my connections and network speed is nice but the problem is that i will sometimes also open multiple tabs in background from a heavy site and these will need much, much time to finish loading. but the addon would just kill them without much process. maybe an advanced version of the addon could be made that will detect the progress of content that is being downloaded and after the idle time seams hopeless, brake the link.
the addon is fine the way it is but i figure it wouldn't hurt to add some ideas that could be used for further improvement.at the moment, i cannot use this much on my connection but other then that, im sure this can be a useful addon in certain situations. i apreciate the effort : )
it would be far better if F6 would toogle the address bar rather then just showing it, leaving hiding to mouse clicks or the ESC key. also,in fullscreen,it is annoying that when address bar shows, the upper panel pops up too. while at it,you could also add the page search (F3) in firefox flying but keep the 'start searching when i start typing' thing on, for us who love it that way. it is a neat idea as this is the only thing remaining at the bottom of the screen now that the status bar is gone and addon bar moved next to tabs with firefox4 ui fixer..
i would post this on the discussion forum but it sais that topic doesn't exist and i currently have no mail account to send directly..
when overing an image with mouse, adds a "save" TOOLTIP in the corner of that image.
sure, you can click on it but it is still a tooltip and quite annoying at times, preventing me from clicking actual buttons and other graphical links. abandon all the button concept and add key+click and a nice glowing stylish frame around the hovered image to indicate the image is detected by the addon.you can also give user some choice in a settings dialog between button or hover+key, delay for button, position of button..
i apreciate the effort here,so middle rating,upgrade/improve the addon
thanx for the preference! the work offline helps when there are too many downloads happening in browser, its all mess, unneeded or maybe, your net connection is slow so you gotta do it one buy one,you just hit work offline, stop everything and try each tab individualy or close the tabs you don't need without wasting bandwidth.however setting this to auto seams dumb just to tell the user its not connected online.at least a go online button could be inbuilt in such pages not to be bothered going in menu just to uncheck the box, sometimes hardly visible.you'd be suprised how annoying that simple procedure can be : D
other addons can do that of course but that is cause they're hiding images but this great addon prevents them from being downloaded. next, quickjava works on firefox 4.0b without flaw,i ve used it,you just need to change a value about checking compatibility in about:config, ask around how. all in all, absolutely brilliant addon and it certainly doesn't deserve a one star rating...This review is for a previous version of the add-on (220.127.116.11-signed).
the best addon of this type IT ALSO WORKS WITH FIREFOX 4.0b but the functionality seams limited (shoot entire page and save to the file, impossible to select a region or use some buttons,at least with my firefox, works fully on 3.6).
true,it doesn't tie itself to any service,it doesn't require a toolbar or display ads,it doesn't take any screen space as it integrates into status bar,it saves loooong 5000px+ pages,at least for me,it supports png and 3 jpg configurations,it offers shooting pages and nothing bloated out of the topic,it is a simple, valuable tool that does what it sais without flaws and more,it even supports 4.0b to some basic extent.all i need
well, the addon first shown a support page,sure/no thanx,i went into preferences and it is ok but the bing search cannot be disabled,it is a whole toolbar for a few functions and along with menu+caption, tabs, firefox toolbar, bookmark toolbar it takes a bit too much of screen space.i don't need another toolbar,i need a solution like shooter but that's compatible with 4.0b,facebook is something i don't use, search engines i allready have with firefox, all on one place so because it is a toolbar with more options that it should have/bloated perhaps,it can't stay and ima uninstall it.
make a basic edition without any other functionality but capturing screen from the status bar without ads to the full edition, trial alike stuff or support conditions and then i might like it more.untill then, middle rating
this addon is better than ad block plus! but is definently not compatible with firefox 4.0b,dont change a thing and update it for version 4.0b.all in all, great jobThis review is for a previous version of the add-on (0.0.4).
so i installed this and restart firefox and there is no transparency, just a solid black theme, didn't bother to find out more, now its uninstalled.another vote for this addon being a useless junk
it is pretty usable on firefox 3.6.3. what you should do is go to view menu in firefox, click on the menu entry "sidebar" and click on a submenu entry chm reader (the shortcut CTRL+E doesn't seam to work).in the sidebar hit the open chm files button,go to your chm file and open it.you might want to disable auto redirection in firefox preferences and if you're asked whether to allow redirection, don't click allow,go to sidebar for NAVIGATION and choose the entries there,do not click the links other than those in the sidebar or you'll loose the navigation and get stucked with the sidebar filled with broken links displaying the text "missing".avoid using the document for navigation, use the sidebar and you ll be fine.some chm files on xp under C:\WINDOWS\Help\ are incompatible with this reader i have no idea why.another powerfull feature is the command line so you can practicaly open files straight from the desktop with a single click if you associate .chm files using the command line and "%1" instead of the file name, this should work.i suggest that the sidebar auto pop ups when a chm is viewed as it is needed anyways, this will save the user going through view menu.alternatively, you can just fix the hotkey as ctrl+e seams reserved by firefox for the search box.also along with that, the internal chm navigation fix would make this pretty complete and bug free firefox add-on.
