Tab Groups Helper

Rated 5 out of 5 stars

I disabled updates to keep this working - it's that good! Firefox will not be the same without it.
It's not just the tab groups features themselves, it also has an independent session backup manager (essential when your session includes 100s of tabs in dozens of groups). It's been much more reliable than Firefox's own session manager, which every now and then seems to lose everything including backups. Having separate, more frequent snapshots in a folder that firefox can't screw up has given me the chance to recover from these incidents.
I do hope one day there will be a new WebEx version of this, but even more so I hope to be able to import my old session into it. Until both of those dreams come true I'll probably keep Firefox updates turned off as long as possible

I couldn't understand why Firefox was hanging while viewing an INTRANET webpage with only static HTML content. Then I saw the status bar saying 'waiting for'. Took some time to find the source of this MALWARE. I had been using this for years. Never again.

Thanks, just what I was looking for to let me update Firefox without losing CustomiseGoogle.

@disastrophe before removing it why not spend just 10 seconds looking at it and realising that the greyed out options are those that are GLOBALLY set in "all services". If you deselect them there you can then individually select for each service.

I had this installed since FF2.x. However, even though the add-on description says it doesn't work for FF3, it still has maxversion set to 3. This bit me when I upgraded to 3.0.x, because of course I got no warning that it wouldn't work. The actual problem is that with this extension enabled, Firefox 3.x will crash as soon as you click on a link to a pdf document. It took me a while to identify this extension as the culprit.
The author claims that the problem is with Firefox, and provides a bug URL. Having just looked there, it claims that the bug was resolved by the Acrobat 9.1 release, BUT I'm already using Acrobat 9.1.3, so either it's the wrong bug for this problem or the bug wasn't fully fixed.
I tried following the link to the homepage for the extension, and got just a blank page! Given also that the last update was in 2006, I can only conclude that the author had abandoned supporting this extension, so I've uninstalled it.

Since I found this and started using it it's been indispensable! I've got it on all my Firefox installations at home, work and laptop. The only criticism is that it hasn't been updated for 3.5. I'm actually holding off on upgrading Firefox because I don't want to lose this addon! PLEASE update it. Even if you are working on a new "version 2" for the new feature requests, please bump the maxversion on the existing 1.0x for Firefox 3.5.x now!
