In a little more detail...

Hi. I'm Paul. I'm a student in Northern Ireland, and I have an interest in computers. I enjoy finding new programs and such for use with my computer. I use Mozilla Firefox, Sunbird, and Thunderbird. I would like to design themes, but I simply don't have the know-how. Maybe in the future.

My Reviews

bormat-mac

Extremely disappointing Rated 1 out of 5 stars

This theme is extremely disappointing, I'm sorry to say. It looks good in the preview and it was what tempted me to download it. However, upon downloading it I realised something: a lot of the features and content of your theme was simply taken from other themes! Off the top of my head, I can think of two themes that you copied from:

Aero Fox, by Virtus Designs. You used this theme's refresh button for your theme.
300, by Frank Lion. The scrollbar is jacked straight from this theme.

Not only this, while some of the features, such as the tab button do look nice in my opinion, in the Addons menu the icon for the theme is absolutely massive! It's so big that it actually bugs out the window and makes it look weird. This theme is terrible with a few redeeming features. I don't doubt it could look incredible, but as it is you need to do a lot with it - make your own icons or get permission to use your current ones, and fix the icon for it.

FoxTab

Not what I was hoping for Rated 2 out of 5 stars

I tried this addon, but I almost immediately uninstalled it. I like the look of it, and it could be one of my favorite Firefox addons, but it just doesn't work in the manner I want it to. It comes with some very nice features, such as the 'Safari 4' Speed Dial, and the ability to flip through tabs. However, for an addon that is meant to speed up browsing, I don't feel it does as it's meant to. Flipping through tabs takes longer for me than clicking the tab I want in my tab bar.

As for the Speed Dial feature, this is the reason I downloaded the addon. I quite like the look of Safari, but I prefer the functionality of Mozilla Firefox. The Foxtab Speed Dial just isn't as good as the other version. Yes, it might look prettier, but it can't be made into a homepage, and that destroys the idea of it for me. Perhaps, if you could make this a standalone feature from Foxtab, or allow it to be used as a homepage I could find myself reinstalling this addon. Until then, I guess not.

PimpZilla

One of my favorite themes for Firefox Rated 5 out of 5 stars

I fell in love with the look of PimpZilla. It really does look the part as a 'Pimp' theme for Firefox. The amount of detail is really staggering, and I definitely would recommend PimpZilla to others. The only complaint I can think of is that PimpZilla does not work properly with Firefox 3.6. Perhaps you could update this theme? It's epic.

GrayFox

Brilliant - absolutely brilliant Rated 5 out of 5 stars

This is a really nice theme! Generally, I like darker coloured themes, and this works perfectly with what I want! I love the Strata40 theme, but the only complaint I have with it is that it's bright white, and I prefer darker. This theme feels a lot smoother, and works really nicely for me!

Also, I quite like some of the Mac OS X interface (I use Windows), and this theme has some really nice OS X properties, such as the style of the Context Menu, and the scrollbar looking like the one from iTunes.

Definitely one of the themes I'll keep coming back to. Thanks for putting the hard work you did into it - it really shows. I haven't found a single problem.
