LinkExtend - Safety, KidSafe, Site Tools

Rated 5 out of 5 stars

Great add-on that has many uses for everyone.

The only real problem I've found is that Dr. Web lags the whole Safety service, and always results in "not applicable".
Unless the results are within my cache, it always lags.
When I try to visit its site details myself, my browsers always takes forever loading.
Therefore disabling it is the only viable option

Hopefully this will be fixed (by either Dr. Web or LinkExtend) in the future.

Qip.Bar

Отвратительный наглонавязываемый тулбар! От которого потом очень трудно избавится. Позор киповцам!

AFOM - Memory Recovery & Retention For Firefox Only

Best addon out there Rated 5 out of 5 stars

This should be built into the browser, it's just that perfect.

One note is that the 27 second thing causes a problem when I'm playing quakelive (quakelive dot com - a browser based game). It lags when it is flushing the cache or whatever it is doing, but I had expected it to crash the game altogether. Quakelive itself crashed the browser whenever I had firefox open for a while and memory had gotten out of hand and QL couldn't allocate enough memory. Thankfully when you deactivate this addon (through Tools->AFOM menu) firefox doesn't immediately snatch up a bunch of RAM, and I can play with NO problems whatsoever. THIS IS EXACTLY WHAT I WANTED!

If you could somehow make it deactivate automatically when I launch the game that would save me from forgetting to deactivate it or reactivate it. Or somehow make it work in the background doing a little flushing at a time instead of all at once.

Also, I love how it is either on or off. So many addons have a zillion options and it's just too much hassle to learn what they all do and then find out what works best for you.

Side note while I was typing this review up firefox memory usage dropped as low as 6MB. Down from what would typically be hundreds of megs.

Gspace

Rated 3 out of 5 stars

version 0.5.99 and earlier will not work if "Always use https" is checked in gmail account.
To fix this replace every occurrence of "http:" with "https:" and every "http%3A" with "https%3A" in all the files if the extension. (it's a rough solution, but it works if you want to still use secure connection... still waiting for an upgrade in the extension)

Sage-Too

The license is indeed ridiculous, though I do want to add that the developer who was insistent on this insanity has left the project, as displayed here: http://sage.blat.co.za/2009/02/19/resignation/

seems a useful extension, but the options are in Russian!

Downloads in Tab

Rated 5 out of 5 stars

Works flawlessly in 3.5.2, I LOVE THIS ADD-ON! Now I can click on the FF icon in my Windows 7 taskbar and not have the download window in there, it's so easy to keep track of downloads with this! Adding it to my permanent list of add-ons to get whenever I install FF on a new machine, great job!

One suggestion - if possible, have the clear/options/search bar be right below the list of files instead of the bottom of the window.

Blank Your Monitor + Easy Reading

Rated 4 out of 5 stars

It's GREAT & a suggestion:
Not all sites are seeable with BYM on.
If it could remember sites on which to revert to normal it would be absolutely fantastic.

ReloadEvery

Rated 4 out of 5 stars

Indispensable. There are so many times when you need an automated page reload, and this extension fits the bill nicely.

Two things:

I'm pretty sure it used to disable itself if you visited a different page. I really wish that still worked; I use ReloadEvery to refresh my inbox, but I hate getting halfway through writing a new email just to have the page refresh, losing my work.

When you disable the automatic reload, the page reloads. Disabling shouldn't cause a reload.

The Browser Highlighter

Rated 1 out of 5 stars

Extremely bad addon, uses an huge amount of resources and will eventually crash FF 3.5.2. Uninstall does not work. Keep this trashware of your computer.

LibertyGuard

Common sense people. Rated 1 out of 5 stars

This seems like a nice extension but is it really needed?

All that you need is a *bit* of common sense, which most people seem to lack these days, to know whether you are on an official banking site or a spoof.
Check the URL address, Don't follow links in emails etc etc etc

Extensions and plugins can not make up for the stupidity of some users.

Tab Scope

Rated 4 out of 5 stars

Aweosme add-on. Is it possible we could add an option to change the color of the boarder surrounding the thumbnail? Aero would be badass.

Speed Dial

Excellent, but still room for improvement Rated 4 out of 5 stars

I love this add-on. only problem is the thumbnail generation. You have to screw around endlessly trying to re-size and get the pages to display correctly in the Speed Dial menu. I don't see why, because the Fast Dial add-on can accomplish this flawlessly with the click of a button. Also, because of its flawed thumbnail generation system, it seems to take longer to load when you are opening Firefox because Speed Dial has to re-size the images to fit inside the boxes when loading.

Over all its still an outstanding add-on. Thanks to the developers.

Better GReader

In the absolutely compact view you have to put back the arrows on the right side, so we can open the items in new tabs without expanding them. Correct this important problem asap, please!
