CS Lite Mod

Still the best cookie manager Rated 5 out of 5 stars

All credit to wantora for resurrecting this some time back. For years I used the original and continue to use this as an excellent update. By far the simplest yet most relevant and effective cookie manager for Firefox.

CS Lite

Using with Firefox 5 Rated 4 out of 5 stars

I still rate this above the other options but 4 stars due to the need to download then patch the patch. Personally I think it is still worth the effort. I found the instructions at useful for how to update the XPI file. Also, if after re-zipping you get a warning that the XPI file is corrupt, check you've retained the same structure in the ZIP file - I accidentally included the top level directory.

Nice fix for a really really bad move in FF4 Rated 5 out of 5 stars

Folks at Moz development - you know who you are - removing the status bar was an awful move. I've been on FF4 about a couple of weeks and I still hate the lack of a fixed space on the screen where I can find control points. Even the NoScript icon now hides below tabs, squashed between the fwd/back and URL and above the tool bar buttons so it just isn't readily accessible. I'm most likely to go back to FF3.6 or try other browsers, but please wake up on this one. In terms of supporting your existing users - really poorly thought through.

Enough rant - about the add-on, it's neat. Gives me back some usable space outside the clutter of the rest of the UI where I can locate what I need. In practice, I have some issues with the add-ons. E.g. I'd rather NoScript appeared here rather than surrounded by the junk at the top of the screen and I can't get CS Lite to give me a menu (which may just be a FF4 compatibility issue). But on the whole, well done for recognising something that was missing and should never have gone.

NoScript Security Suite

Still worth the money ;-) Rated 5 out of 5 stars

Used this for a couple of years now, and it is the only sensible way to browse widely without interference. It is effective, low intrusion in daily browsing and easy to configure incrementally. I very highly recommend this and joined today specifically to do my bit to get this back to 5 stars where it belongs. And I use ABP as well - for that whole debacle, time to cool it on all sides, including the petulent one star reviews.
