I have reviewed this add-on before in June 2009 but re-reviewing as I see a lot of people are having compatibility problems, however it works (and always has) fine for me.
It worked on Fx 2 versions, Fx 3.0.x versions and also Fx 3.5.x versions. At the minute I am using Firefox 3.5.3 [Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:188.8.131.52) Gecko/20090824 Firefox/3.5.3] and it's working perfectly - it also installed perfectly!
The *only* problems with installing I have had is one time when many add-ons would not install from AMO (don't know why) but it did the next day. I have always used it on Windows XP and Vista using the en_US version bar a couple of times I used the en_GB version, dictionaries installed on that too and it would NOT install on an old Netscape Navigator (184.108.40.206) either. Best bet is to ask for help at the MozillaZine forums.
I still maintain it is an excellent dictionary. It does need an update as dictionaries are constantly being amended and added to but this contains more than enough to get by for day to day usage. You might need a more comprehensive one if your into writing essays for collage / university etc.
crashed my Firefox! Using Fx 3.5.2 on Win XP home - I only have a dictionary installed, no other extensions! Thought I would try this instead of my usual bookmarklets. Awful add-on, sorry!
Thank you very much for an excellent dictionary! Even though I am from the UK I use a US dictionary as well for when I am coding and also for some forums and using / posting from the NASV Bible - plus the British dictionary does not work on Netscape Navigator 220.127.116.11 (Gecko/20080219 Firefox/18.104.22.168) but this does so it earns an extra point. No problems at all, no conflicts etc. Thanks again! This review is for a previous version of the add-on (3.0.3).
I am sorry but this is awful! I used it last year on Firefox 2 and it worked really well bar the odd fudge up but I started getting the message that it was too busy to convert a webpage to PDF... all the time! At all hours of the day on Fx 22.214.171.124, on Fx 3.0.13 and now on Fx 3.5.2 - on this version of PDF Download 126.96.36.199 and on the previous. Infact it does nothing, it is a useless extension! I do not know if it views PDF as HTML as I use my system's default pdf reader to do all that but I wanted (and previously used) this add-on specifically for the webpage conversion feature. I am really disappointed and I will report all bugs in the PDF Download forum. This review is for a previous version of the add-on (188.8.131.52).
ColorZilla is a really great extension for serious and novice web designers, I love the colour picking tools and with just a couple of clicks you have handy colour palettes plus being able to find out a web sites exact colours, the list goes on. I am rating it 4 stars because it seems to make my browser lag a little plus I have colour picking software on my pc which does the same job without slowing anything down, no offense meant. This is great for those who love the functionality from inside the browser and I will try it out again in the future when I get a better spec pc. Thank you and keep up the good work. This review is for a previous version of the add-on (2.0.2).
Beautiful! Really really love it, this is my favourite theme ever! I went to the creators site and now also have the light blue version. A million thanks. This review is for a previous version of the add-on (3.11).
Excellent theme! Another wonderful theme Mr Kayser! I am using it on Fx 3.5.2 and it works perfectly and also the icons are nice and smooth edged when I change my desktop vs theme which changes the background so maybe Sapelo a few comments back could change it by chrome editing. High visibility and more screen space, lovely :o) thank you!
Review for Search Engine Sorting Version 1.0.3. This version for Firefox 3.5.1 is still in the sandbox at the minute but I have installed it and it works perfectly, thank you! I used the old version on Fx 2 and it sorted them within seconds, this in an invaluable add-on as the search engine feature should have an option to be sorted alphabetically for ease of use! The 'other' main browser which I dislike auto sorts them, so why not Firefox? Nobody would go to a library and look for a book if they just stuck them in any old pile with no order. This small (2kb!) add-on fixes that and no conflicts, same goes for this sandboxed version. In 2 words: invaluable and needed. Thank you!
This is a great dictionary, it might not be completely up to date but still passes as a large majority of modern British words are included. Thank youThis review is for a previous version of the add-on (1.19).
I love this updated version, it is excellent. I like the way the user scripts are now in the add-ons menu. I can see some people prefer the old version *but* if you gave the option to choose between old styles version and new would it not make this extension bloated? Maybe make two versions this one and the old style one? I prefer this one, top job, top add-on and makes the web my own PLUS can help people with colour blindness or those who like the web in black to use less energy consumption. This review is for a previous version of the add-on (1.0.1).
All I can say about this add-on is... LOVE IT! Totally love it and it IS my No1 add-on ever! If I had to pick only the _one_ add-on including themes to use for the rest of my browsing days this would be it. Been using it since about 2006, no problems just totally perfect ad free browsing... I do white list the "good" sites though if they ask. I went on a certain site I use regularly with my Fx 3 vanilla as I'd just re-opened a new profile and urgh - it just looked an advert laden mess, logged out and installed ABP, peace restored. Thank you Wladimir! This review is for a previous version of the add-on (1.0.2).
My 2nd review on BetterPrivacy because I sounded an idiot on the first one! I LOVE this add-on, love it. I also use CCleaner and it also clears the flash cache but this also disables DOM storage which yes you can do manually but you have to mess about in about config. I note some saying you can do these things manually and whilst that may be true this saved time and when I've logged out of an online shopping site - I want my LSO's cleaning there and then right that second for security rather than wait until the end of session and then clean tracks. My only small gripe is it does hand the browser a couple of seconds on closing but if it is set to manual delete them or auto delete on exit without asking user - it seems to be ok. A great add-on for those who are security minded yet not sure what to do or a bit impatient / worried about privacy at times like me. Thank you! This review is for a previous version of the add-on (1.29).
Fantastic! It does exactly what it says without dreaded browser lag! My only small gripe is it hangs if you set it to auto delete and ask, easy fixed by removing them via the manual option (which if you have used a secure site best to do it a.s.a.p you have logged out) or set it not to ask. I do not think it is a bug just anything that empties on exit does hand a couple of seconds. Either way I love this but if I forget to do it I also use a certain C**p cleaning program and delete the flash cookies with it set to Guttman pass. This review is for a previous version of the add-on (1.29).
