Please make this:
>Disabled audio when playing webm movies in pop-ups (so they behave similarly to gif's).
optional, because for some people it was a feature, not a bug.
Unfortunately does not work with gesture tracking extensions. It would’ve been better if it could analyze resize commands only on a specific area of the window.
Update works just fine.
Thank you for reacting so quickly!
edit (30-September-2012): I think it’s not working again (FF v. 15.0.1; add-on v. 1.0.3, YT HTML5 is off).
Each new loading of the same page requires its own cache, even though the generated cache folders are mostly identical by their content. Is there any way to make the program merge these cache folders into a single one to preserve space?
Disabling caching altogether doesn’t seem to fix the problem and is rather counter-intuitive.
Aside from that, the extension is simply great. There are several things that can still be improved (e.g. shortcuts, a feature for custom rgb colours, mht\html\pdf export, a non-intrusive integration with existing Scrapbook+ directory etc), but other then that, this is exactly what I was looking for for a very long time.
I think it is seriously, way ahead of its time. Too many proprietary programs can not offer anything close to this without implying hidden handicaps of one sort of another. Handicaps, that later on will cause you to lose much time, meaningless efforts and your sense of peace.This review is for a previous version of the add-on (22.214.171.124).
Well maybe he is removing your comments because you're being a jerk with your attitude. The extension does what its page says, and it's stupid to be whining about its basic functionality.
I think the add-on has a problem with bg color twitching. I'm not sure if it is supposed to work like this or it's a bug, but in my case it's switching from black background to a white one, and then back to black all over again, which makes it unusable.
This is actually the first addon\script\whatever that was supposed to prevent Youtube autoplay and worked for me. I'm on v.13, btw.This review is for a previous version of the add-on (0.2.91).
A very needed addon!
Here is some feedback that I hope you'll find helpful:
1. on a FireFox 13 on a Windows XP Service Pack 3, the player window is impossible to reopen the second time (after opening and closing) until the next restart of the browser. I'm not sure why is this happening, but it can be very annoying;
2. the play buttons are being installed to the statusbar's icon part, and there is no other option to remove them from there and put on some other bars. This can ruin redesigned window structures in modified profiles because the said statusbar icon part is a solid block with all the addon-icons on it and even with the help of other extension it can only be moved wholly, i.e. it is impossible to move only custom items from the bar. Adding an option for hiding the icons from the add-on bar and adding the extension's icon set for the tab bars customization set would fix this;
3. the playlist window can not be separated to another window or opened as new a tab, which looks ugly if Tree Style Tabs is installed.
1. a feature of importing and\or playing Youtube playlists (playlists of Youtube users);
2. a feature of having multiple playlists and saving them somewhere locally;
3. a feature of directing the video stream to an external player like VLC or KMplayer
3.2. since the said players can't cache the streaming video at the moment, a feature of passing the flash player's cached file to them would've been just great (it is possible to open such cached files manually, so its not impossible);
3.3. a feature of setting a special cache folder for Youtube videos to prevent the loaded videos from wiping out when regularly emptying the cache;
3.4. wider selection options in video quality and format;
4. a lyrics window.
edit: No, I do realize how hard and\or time-consuming it can be. I just felt like sharing with a feedback would be a meaningful expression of gratitude to you.
Please make tiles smaller or do something else to prevent the extension from reacting to *any* drag'n'dropping.
Otherwise it's getting annoying real fast, even when the original idea is rather good.
This wonderful add-on just saved my work from ruining one more time.
Thank you, it's creator!
Same with line 1357*This review is for a previous version of the add-on (0.10.2010091901). This user has a previous review of this add-on.
A very needed concept. Only please fix the utils.js:813 issue.This review is for a previous version of the add-on (0.10.2010091901).
With key shortcuts for incrementings it would've been so much more awesome.This review is for a previous version of the add-on (0.4.1).
It can be very helpful, and yet it lacks a single-site management along with global controlThis review is for a previous version of the add-on (0.5.253).
A nice idea with really elegant realization.This review is for a previous version of the add-on (0.4.3).
The extension is great, but as I think there is no opportunity to allow all reqs by default while blocking only unwanted requests? Additional site blacklists could be exchanged and imported from user-community.
Perhaps I am doing it wrong, but trying to allow different blocked reqways to find which one is responsible for missing images(f.e.) is kind of exhausting.
I'm not sure if it would be ok to wright in russian, so I'll ask in english after all.
The problem is, that in armenian mapping letters, that are binded to numbers and their upper keys are not showing. Everything else is just fine, but that single row of keys is making typing impossible.
Where can be the problem with that?
The idea is great, but realization sucks by now(sorry for my english). You wrote in comments that it looks to easy because of the privacy matters. Add then two different politics of surfing, so it will be possible to choose just blocking annoying results, or going into ninja-mode. Or even both of them at once. Besides that you can make black-list editable, but put password on it, so user can be able to see had he already blocked that bunch of sites or not. Eventually, if you are working for privacy that hard, what's the point of "block this" button? Double-mode politic will be the best, imho.
About urls: i tried to block *exaple.com* and my browser crushed. You wrote in comments that it's complicated fragment blocking using scripts that run the addon by now, but can u at least make * definitions acceptable? That+black-list editing feature and addon will stay for its' name. Btw, same fragment blocking can be used for download manager. : )
About Rushis' proposal: idea is great, but if you'll bring it to life, please don't make as a default option. F.e. i like to configure what should be blocked and what should not only manually.
And thank you for your comments, i hope you'll make this addon better, the idea is just too good to pass away.
Good luck and lots of coffee. ;d
