Add-on Update Checker

What exactly do I have to enter into exclusions field? Rated 5 out of 5 stars

I don't want to check for particular updates because I use "forked" version for Pale Moon, mostly created myself using workarounds.
But what string I have to enter into the exclusion field?
Some addons are just checked, whatever I enter.

Add-on Update Checker

Please add support to Pale Moon, so I don't have to do it each time ;-) Rated 4 out of 5 stars

Steps to add Pale Moon support:

in chrome.manifest add
overlay chrome://browser/content/browser.xul chrome://UpdateAddon/content/UpdateAddonOverlayFF.xul application={8de7fcbb-c55c-4fbe-bfc5-fc555c87dbc4}

in install.rdf add
<id>{8de7fcbb-c55c-4fbe-bfc5-fc555c87dbc4}</id>

that's it

This review is for a previous version of the add-on (2.10).

Fierr

Made it working with Pale Moon 25.2.0 Rated 5 out of 5 stars

Steps:

1.1. Go to http://forum.palemoon.org/viewtopic.php?t=3365 and ONLY download one of these two files:
Large logo template no background (560x560) - http://img51.imageshack.us/img51/2227/aanu.png
Small logo template no background (560x560) - http://img202.imageshack.us/img202/912/h9a0.png

1.2. Go to
http://realityripple.com/Software/Mozilla_Extensions/Fierr/customized.php
(funny is that the website doesn't work well on Firefox - ehhh - Pale Moon! There is something wrong with the entry fields inside the Color Section. So I used it in Internet Explorer - only this site! Ironic.)

1.3. As "Background Image" choose the downloaded .png image file, it should be named either aanu.png or h9a0.png

1.4. In "Color Selection" choose
Underline color: #5898FF
Top Left Edge color: #195D8B
Bottom Right Edge color: #5F9BFF

1.5 Click on "Download XPI"

2. Rename extension .xpi to .zip

3. Unpack .zip to folder, so a folder with the same name as the .zip file should be created with the contents in it, in this case it should be "fierr_custom".

4. Inside the folder "fierr_custom", use Notepad++ or UltraEdit or similar to edit chrome.manifest and install.rdf

5. In chrome.manifest, do the following steps (either replace the lines with {ec8030f7-c20a-464f-9b0e-13a3a9e97384} or add new lines):

5.1. Change
override chrome://global/content/netError.xhtml chrome://fierr/content/netErrFF.xhtml application={ec8030f7-c20a-464f-9b0e-13a3a9e97384}

to

override chrome://global/content/netError.xhtml chrome://fierr/content/netErrFF.xhtml application={8de7fcbb-c55c-4fbe-bfc5-fc555c87dbc4}

5.2. Change
skin fierr skin chrome/skin/ application={ec8030f7-c20a-464f-9b0e-13a3a9e97384}

to

skin fierr skin chrome/skin/ application={8de7fcbb-c55c-4fbe-bfc5-fc555c87dbc4}

5.3. Change
overlay chrome://browser/content/browser.xul chrome://fierr/content/fierrFF.xul application={ec8030f7-c20a-464f-9b0e-13a3a9e97384}

to

overlay chrome://browser/content/browser.xul chrome://fierr/content/fierrFF.xul application={8de7fcbb-c55c-4fbe-bfc5-fc555c87dbc4}

6. In install.rdf, do the following steps (either replace the lines with {ec8030f7-c20a-464f-9b0e-13a3a9e97384} or add new lines):

ATTENTION! This review system doesn't allow extended characters, as you can see in 6.1. - just copy the whole Firefox block, add it under it and replace {ec8030f7-c20a-464f-9b0e-13a3a9e97384} with {8de7fcbb-c55c-4fbe-bfc5-fc555c87dbc4} and change its name to "Pale Moon" to avoid confusion.

6.1. Change
!-- Firefox --
em:targetApplication
Description
em:id {ec8030f7-c20a-464f-9b0e-13a3a9e97384} /em:id
em:minVersion 1.5 /em:minVersion
em:maxVersion 33.0 /em:maxVersion
/Description
/em:targetApplication

to

!-- Pale Moon --
em:targetApplication
Description
em:id {8de7fcbb-c55c-4fbe-bfc5-fc555c87dbc4} /em:id
em:minVersion 1.5 /em:minVersion
em:maxVersion 33.0 /em:maxVersion
/Description
/em:targetApplication

7. Repack and install:

7.1. Inside the folder "fierr_custom" choose all files and use your packer (7-zip, WinRAR etc.) to create a .ZIP - not .7z, not .rar!
7.2. Rename the resulting "fierr_custom.zip" to something like "fierr_palemoon.xpi", but most important is that you change the extension to .xpi
7.3. Move the resulting .xpi outside that folder where you want to archive it.
7.4. Open the Add-ons manager of Pale Moon.
7.5. Drag'N'Drop the .xpi to Pale Moon's Add-ons manager, it should install.
7.6. Restart Pale Moon and test it typing an obscure non-exisiting website url like gasfhgerszasr.net into the adress bar.

I didn't change the icons to Pale Moon look-a-like.

Here is a link to my own version, based on v1.4:

Easy Youtube Video Downloader Express

Actually no difference to DownloadHelper, maximum 720p Rated 4 out of 5 stars

I was so bored of not having the possibility to get 1080p videos downloaded, so I switched to Easy Youtube Video Downloader Express, but the presented download options are exactly the same I was used to with DownloadHelper - 720p is maximum.
What's the issue?

Edit:
Ah! I see it, 1080p 60 fps is not supported, only "legacy" 1080p is supported.

Please fix that!

Password Exporter

Rated 3 out of 5 stars

Please add compatibility for Pale Moon with new GUID {8de7fcbb-c55c-4fbe-bfc5-fc555c87dbc4} so that the buttons re-appear into the Options|Settings|Security GUI.

This review is for a previous version of the add-on (1.2.1).

NewsFox

NewsFox won't take feeds that I added to Firefox, have to manually add them, too Rated 3 out of 5 stars

When I subscribe to an Atom/RSS feed with Firefox it won't appear in NewsFox, also a restart of Firefox won't help.
I have to manually add it in there.

This review is for a previous version of the add-on (1.0.9.1).

Download Manager Tweak

Two settings won't work together Rated 3 out of 5 stars

When I set these two options together ...

- Close after finishing downloads
(german: Nach Abschluss der Downloads schließen)
- Remove downloads automatically after finishing
(german: Downloads nach Abschluss automatisch aus Liste entfernen.)

... then the downloads are not removed from the list, the manager is closed, I have to reopen it to remove manually.

So either the manager is closed but the downloads are still listed or the downloads are removed but the manager is still open.

ErrorZilla Plus

Incompatible to AdBlock Plus (perhaps "Australis issue") Rated 2 out of 5 stars

AdBlock Plus is not working well when ErrorZilla Plus is installed, starting with the bugged context menu.
After removing ErrorZilla Plus the problem is gone.

It could be that the "Australis issue" is the reason.

Heartbleed-Ext

RED is bad, GREEN is good, but what is YELLOW? Rated 4 out of 5 stars

Many sites are shown as yellow when loaded in first instance, only reloading the site changed the icon to green.

What is this about?

Downloads Window

Rated 4 out of 5 stars

It stays open when I close the main browser window.

But I wish back the compatibility to the addon MinimizeToTray revived 1.1.2

Noia 4 -discontinued-

Search Bar text goes white (on white background) Rated 5 out of 5 stars

Using 1.77 pre3, while entering text into the default search box the text in some cases just changes its font color to white - like the background...

Auto-Update won't work in TB Rated 4 out of 5 stars

The addon works well.

But it's the only addon the auto-update never works.
I always have to go to this site and drag&drop the "green button" to the TB addon tab.

Video DownloadHelper

4.9.10b3 aka. 4.9.10b6 works Rated 5 out of 5 stars

Hi,

the announced 4.9.10b6 (which is called 4.9.10b3 after installing) just works as used to.

This review is for a previous version of the add-on (4.9.9).  This user has 3 previous reviews of this add-on.

The temporal workaround 4.9.10b2 makes it just worse Rated 3 out of 5 stars

Hello,

before installing the 4.9.10b2 I got the same issue as the most people - 0 bytes or just not downloading anything.

After installing 4.9.10b2 the situation is that there is no recognizing anymore - the tool bar button stays greyed out, only the context menu is available.
The widget button within youtube sites doesn't start a download too.

Bamboo Feed Reader

Some feeds won't open the blog but the "add to feeds" dialogue Rated 3 out of 5 stars

The behavior didn't change with 1.4. Still the same problem.

###

Hmm.

On several feeds clicking on the header link doesn't open the article website but the dialogue to add this same feed...

It's kinda paradox...

Example:
1. opening in bamboo tries to open url alles-schallundrauch.blogspot.com/feeds/7645367999364776346/comments/default - this url makes firefox ask if I want to subscribe to the feed.
2. opening same article header in default firefox feed bookmark opens http://feedproxy.google.com/~r/SchallUndRauch/~3/SYFRPQXOCQY/newt-gingrich-auf-drogen-quatscht-nur.html which refers to http://alles-schallundrauch.blogspot.com/2012/01/newt-gingrich-auf-drogen-quatscht-nur.html?utm_source=feedburner&amp;amp;utm_medium=feed&amp;amp;utm_campaign=Feed%3A+SchallUndRauch+%28Schall+und+Rauch%29

So where is the issue? Does bamboo got problems with feedproxy.google.com? Or is it something else?

btw the feed properties inside bamboo look well

Bamboo Feed Reader

Rated 5 out of 5 stars

Wonderful.

I also had to dismiss Brief lately.

This review is for a previous version of the add-on (1.2).

Brief

1.6b1 vs. FF 9.0.1, scrambles Rated 2 out of 5 stars

Now I had to delete the whole brief.sqlite (while exiting and restarting FF) because the contents of the right don't show what should be there.

For example:
left category 1 -> contents category 23
left category 2 -> contents category 7
left category 3 -> contents category 12
left category 4 -> contents category 5

and so on - it's a mess

Video DownloadHelper

WebM support, but no correct file naming Rated 5 out of 5 stars

When I choose to download the WebM variant of a video on youtube, the naming is not well done. Check this screenshot, it says all: http://img21.myimg.de/DownloadhelperWebMNamingad940.png

Form History Control

Using the Noia theme some fields are way too small Rated 4 out of 5 stars

Trying to add a rule, I get this window with entry fields so small I can't see the first character inside the fields:

http://img21.myimg.de/FormHistoryManagerField25bde.png

But beside that the addon is wonderful.

Noia 4 -discontinued-

(Gérard Durand's version for TB) not an option Rated 5 out of 5 stars

...because the missing scrollbars problem that is solved in Noia 4 for FF is not solved in Gérard Durand's version for TB.
Also the addons manager in that version is (cosmetically) buggy.
So a Noia 4 for Thunderbird would be an option.
