Great Add On (Suggestion) Rated 5 out of 5 stars
The add on does what it says, but the configuration is in an odd spot. I suggest being able to configure this extension from the Tools menu in FireFox. You currently must go to your add ons, select this one, and configure it there which is cumbersome and abnormal.
Thanks for writing it!
Perfect idea Rated 5 out of 5 stars
Now I can reduce my productivity by increasing my productivity. This review is for a previous version of the add-on (22.214.171.124-signed).
Doesn't work on Mac Rated 3 out of 5 stars
Cannot find communicate with VLC despite pointing to it both the the GUI, and typing in the path manually. Tried on 10.6 and 10.7. I'll assume that it works on Windows and give it a 3.
Why is this not built into every browser? Rated 5 out of 5 stars
This is the absolute MUST HAVE plugin for me. It's the first install every time I install FF. It's so necessary that I hacked the code to get it to run on FF4, FF5, and FF6 before it's time. I just can't go to another browser unless they offer something like this. 1000 stars buddy! Great job.
Why is it great compared to other vertical tabs? The fact that you can make trees. This is incredibly useful. Suppose your browsing Amazon for a BBQ. You find severall that you want to examine. Open them all as children tabs (command+click). Now a new email comes in but your tab space is consumed by Amazon tabs. NP, just collapse the tree. Now you can make another tree for your emails if you like. You can close entire trees, bookmark entire trees, etc... Also one BIG last benefit is that you can actually read what your tab is. With top tabs, they get so small that you must either click on them or hover over them to see what they are.
Hey, I'll send a personal email too, but here is a suggestion (Mac related). In Mac, you can go to System Preferences->Keyboard->Keyboard Shortcuts. At this screen you can assign a hotkey by a function's title in the to menu bar. This doesn't work with context menus however. May I suggest that in the options screen, you implement a checkbox that allows the menus to appear under Tools->TreeStyleTabs. This way, a user can assign somethign like command + shift + U for "undo close tab". Kick ass.
Anyhow, again. Best Tree Add-on there is!.
