My Reviews

Toolbar Buttons

Still 5 stars for v1.0, but I can't use 1.0.1 Rated 5 out of 5 stars

I love this add-on. I was eager for the new version to get the Address Go button. But my Toggle Bookmarks Toolbar and Page Colors buttons lost their icons, so I had to restore v1.0.

User-Agent JS Fixer

Rated 5 out of 5 stars

Excellent. Thank you.

Interclue

Useful add-on, beta Hoverclue feature breaks pdf downloads Rated 4 out of 5 stars

I like Interclue, very useful extension. I like it mainly for identifying linked filetypes and expanding shortened links.

The beta Hoverclue feature breaks pdf downloads. I don't know if it breaks any other filetypes because I had to disable it. Hoverclue is not essential functionality, and it is labelled a beta feature. I'm mentioning the problem in this review to help anyone else avoid the lengthy troubleshooting I went through to identify the cause.

Evernote Web Clipper

Rated 3 out of 5 stars

I had to revert to version 4 because version 5 won't let me hide the Evernote button. I also hate the password popup because it doesn't work with my Roboform password manager. I don't think Evernote put much effort into this Firefox add-on.

YesScript

Rated 5 out of 5 stars

Great extension, exactly what I wanted.

In reply to ionpopescu , my experience is that NoScript still breaks lots of pages even with "allow scripts globally", no matter what I try.

Fast Search by Surf Canyon

Rated 4 out of 5 stars

Excellent add-in but the preferences are buggy. The preferences are not stored in cookie as I originally thought, but everything about them annoys me. The Surf Canyon icon displays in my status bar despite the disabled preference. The Surf Canyon mail icon (who could possibly want this?) likewise displays in my address bar despite its disabled preference. And since I have to constantly reset the preferences, why can't the add-in menu actually *open* the preferences page the same way it can open the Surf Canyon home page, which I have no use for? Raising an alert that tells me the address for preferences is better than nothing, but why can't it just open the page? Anyway, the basic functionality is great - so 4 stars for an excellent but buggy add-in.

Fast Search by Surf Canyon

Excellent extension Rated 5 out of 5 stars

The developer responded to my concern, which was mistaken. The Surf Canyon preferences are not stored in cookies. My preferences are staying in place now - not sure what I did wrong before. So I am happy with this extension and recommend it.

Fast Search by Surf Canyon

Useful but should not use cookies Rated 3 out of 5 stars

I like this extension, but it uses cookies to store preferences, so I now have to clear cookies selectively and can't just clear them all. Not sure if I will keep it.

Long URL Please

Needs an exceptions list Rated 3 out of 5 stars

1. This extension would be useful for me if it had an exceptions list. http://links.scripting.com/ for example freezes Firefox for way too long if Long URL please is enabled.

2. Long URL Please works on some pages with embedded Twitter feeds, but not all.

#2 is okay because I have other tools to expand this or that short URL; but #1 is not okay. I am uninstalling Long URL Please and will check back from time to time to see if an exceptions list has been added.

Stylish

An essential add-on Rated 5 out of 5 stars

Great extension, let's me make pages look the way I want. CSS is really easy, definitely worth learning.

Stylish

Rated 3 out of 5 stars

I'm afraid to upgrade Firefox to 3.5 because I don't know if I would have to upgrade Stylish from 0.5.9. Why did the developer do this?

TinEye Reverse Image Search

Rated 5 out of 5 stars

I love TinEye Reverse Image Search for finding images in larger sizes or without text added. I was already using the TinEye web page, but searching from the context menu is more convenient.

Stylish

Terrible upgrade Rated 1 out of 5 stars

Is there a way to remove this last upgrade? I do like the simpler new button. But I hate the manager in side panel instead of a separate window; and I am flabbergasted to see other other features removed. Why??

Stylish

Essential add-on Rated 4 out of 5 stars

If upgrade from 0.5.9 loses your styles, restore Firefox profile and make sure preference extensions.stylish.legacyFileMigrated is set to No before trying upgrade again.
