My Reviews

AniWeather

Rated 3 out of 5 stars

I would use this add-on instead of Forecastbar Enhanced, except it goes screwy with Flashblock. Yes, I have the latest version (0.6.6), and the problem was supposed to have been fixed, but it's no different now than it ever was. I tried allowing all flash from AniWeather.com, but even this doesn't work; unless you're actually at the AniWeather site when you hover over the statusbar icons, the animations are blocked by Flashblock. I can tell you this: I'm not disabling Flashblock just so I can have a nicer-looking weather add-on, especially not when the one I have works just fine.
Fix this issue, and I'll probably switch over to AniWeather. Otherwise, I'm sticking with Forecastbar, and I'm not looking back. Nice try anyway, though.

Wow! ...Wow!

...Just wow!

Tab History

Rated 5 out of 5 stars

Why has this not been updated?! This is an essential extension!

Yet Another Smooth Scrolling

Rated 5 out of 5 stars

By far the best smooth scrolling add-on I've ever used. It just works beautifully! I also like the customization options. And thanks for updating it for FF 3.5 in a reasonable period. Please keep it up!

Fast Dial

Rated 5 out of 5 stars

I've been Fast Dial-ing for ages, and it has become one of my must-have add-ons. However, a few days after I installed FF 3.5, for no apparent reason (and in the middle of a browsing session, no less) Fast Dial began showing just a blank page, instead of a page full of shortcuts, or even blank boxes. It was just white! I tried restarting FF, restarting the computer, uninstalling and reinstalling Fast Dial... anything I could think of, but to no avail. So I uninstalled the add-on and tried out a few replacements, including Speed Dial... but to my dismay, none of them were up to snuff. Not ready to give up, I checked out the user reviews here hoping to find some mention of my problem, and not only did I find mention of it, I found a solution, thanks to TheInvaderBN! For anyone else having the same problem, his solution works perfectly! Don't settle for less just because of a hiccup here and there. This is still one of the best add-ons of any kind I've ever found. Highly recommended!

Image Zoom

Rated 5 out of 5 stars

This is the ultimate add-on for zooming images. Well done!
I recommend users combine it with the MouseZoom add-on, which uses precisely the same mouse actions, so controls are consistent and intuitive. When combining the two, there is no conflict: Image Zoom acts when your cursor is over an image, and MouseZoom when your cursor is not over an image. Not only are they both excellent add-ons, they complement each other very well.

Tab Preview

Rated 5 out of 5 stars

Very nice, simple extension that works as advertised. Just one small problem, though: as has been mentioned before (though maybe blown slightly out of proportion), the preview flickers when you move the cursor between different areas on the tab. Still, five stars!

ProCon Latte Content Filter

Rated 5 out of 5 stars

This add-on isn't perfect (yet), but it gets the job done better than the alternatives, by orders of magnitude. Here's hoping it's updated for FF 3.5 soon; I really miss having the added peace of mind this add-on offers!

All-in-One Sidebar

Rated 5 out of 5 stars

I have all of 40 add-ons installed on my Firefox, but this is one of my most used (and most useful) add-ons, along with Fast Dial and FireGestures. Highly recommended. "Award-winning" for a reason. Great idea, nearly perfect execution! And this is only version 0.7.1?!

FireGestures

Rated 5 out of 5 stars

By far my most used and most useful add-on. Common actions become a quick flick of the mouse; no more hunting and clicking. Extremely customizable (making it the only gesture add-on you need to try) and powerful, yet lightweight and completely non-intrusive--a true must have! I occasionally find myself attempting to execute a gesture in Windows Explorer or another application, before catching myself and executing a completely different gesture: the facepalm. Once you start using it you wont know how you ever lived without it!

ProCon Latte Content Filter

Needs work Rated 4 out of 5 stars

If you're worried about your kids viewing or reading some of the trash that seems to pop up at every turn while surfing, this add-on is no substitute for a commercial internet filtering/monitoring product. However, for your own personal use (which is what I use it for, having no kids to worry about) it is a decent enough solution. Still, in a number of areas it is severely lacking. For example, the filter blocks utterly harmless pages routinely if "moderate" or "secure" settings are selected for the main filter. Consequently, I always have it on the "low" setting. This means that its main use for me is the secondary feature of filtering profanity. But the profanity filter requires typing in every swear word you can think of (not my idea of a good time, but that's just me) and/or waiting until you see the words somewhere so you can right-click and filter them. Not especially efficient either way. I'd like to see a preloaded database of profanities included to at least get us started. Anyway, I certainly appreciate the effort by the developer(s).

(I use this add-on in conjunction with the WOT, Adblock Plus, and Flashblock add-ons, and together they come near providing a friendly surfing environment for myself.)

FishEyeTabs

Nice tweak Rated 4 out of 5 stars

Great for those who sometimes have a lot of tabs open at once. Personally, I like that the 'X' button is placed in the far right of the tab bar, as the fish-eye effect makes it a little bit trickier than usual to click on the 'X' on the tab itself. But I DON'T like that the 'X' buttons on the tabs are removed, as this forces you to click on a tab, then click on that close button, even when there are too few tabs open for the fish-eye thing to come into effect. I use this extension in combination with 'Tab X,' which sticks the X buttons back on the tabs, without removing the 'X' from the far right of the bar. Perfect!
