SmartVideo For YouTube

Rated 5 out of 5 stars

Love it!
A few months ago Youtube stopped buffering the entire video. This forces it to do so. Fantastic add-on, thank you so much.

Text Link

Yes you are missing something Rated 5 out of 5 stars

Jokkers/Guttsy911, you are completely incorrect as to how browsers decide to make "http:" and other text strings clickable. I suggest you bone up on some basic HTML and then come back.

Secure Sanitizer

No ability to automatically sanitize cache on shutdown Rated 3 out of 5 stars

Shoot, I've been using this for months without even realizing it wasn't doing anything! FF11 and later disables the cache when you elect to automatically clear on shutdown. And "AskForSanitize" forces me to choose every time what I want cleaned.

I just want a program that will automatically wipe the cache every time FF is shut down, without me having to do anything. But I do want the cache enabled! Why did Mozilla have to disable the cache completely? Makes no sense.

Maybe "AskForSanitize" can have an option that won't need user input for cache deletion.

Movable Firefox Button

Great Rated 5 out of 5 stars

Nice work! This addon works with the "App Button Color" addon so you can remove the orange from the button. However, to use the App Button Color extension, you need to install it, select the color of the button you want (using the right mouse button), then install this extension. When this extension is active you can't select the color with the right mouse button.

So I changed the background to black and removed the little arrow to the right of the icon. Looks great!

Iconic Firefox Menu

Rated 2 out of 5 stars

A sad fail. Just as other users said, the icon is too large and pushes the tabs down a pixel or two so that you can no longer move the mouse to the top edge of the screen to select them. Just shows that something can be so close yet so far. Developer really should have looked into this, not hard to fix. :(

BetterPrivacy

Rated 4 out of 5 stars

Extremely helpful. The only problem I see with this addon is that, if you have it notify you with a popup whenever an LSO is detected, it slows down the system. If you find momentary pauses every few seconds while watching youtube vids, disable this option.

Secure Sanitizer

Rated 4 out of 5 stars

Ok, sorry about that last review, it apparently does work correctly provided you go into Tools > Clear Recent History and select all the things that you want cleared with this addon. Whether it "securely" deletes them is as yet unknown to me. The 3-pass DOD algorithm is older but unless you're a spy should be good enough for pretty much everything.

Very excellent add on thank you

Secure Sanitizer

:( Rated 4 out of 5 stars

Shoot, I want to update what I said in my prior review. Unfortunately it seems that no matter what settings you've got for Firefox's "Clear History" options, by manually "Sanitizing" via the menu button, this addon will delete everything--all your cookies, all your history, all your information completely. I don't want that and can't have that. I need to be able to specify what it deletes and what it doesn't, and apparently when you manually delete it will nuke everything. No bueno.
EDIT: See my next review for an update

Secure Sanitizer

Seems good so far Rated 4 out of 5 stars

Nice little utility; the reviewer who complains about it (and all other wipe utilities) not wiping ATA drives or whatever has a specious argument. Windows itself is not very private and poses more threats to security than anything else. And as far as the 3-pass DOD spec wiping algorithm, it's good enough. I don't want to sit there waiting for a 35-pass Gutmann wipe. If you're an international spy and are trying to hide information that would start World War III or something, then yeah this might not be secure enough for you. But for 99.99% of other people this will be good enough. If "Recuva" can't find it, then that's good enough for me.

I'm assuming from the author's post about FF 3.5+ not wiping on application close means that you need to add it to the toolbar and manually wipe when you need to. I don't want to install a util that asks me whether I want to wipe every single time I close FF, because 99 times out of 100 I don't need to wipe anything. But manually is fine too, if a little bit cumbersome.

FoxClocks

Rated 4 out of 5 stars

Really good and helpful. Would like to be able to display each clock in a different format. For example, I like to display my local time in 12-hour format but UTC in 24-hour format.

NoSquint

Rated 5 out of 5 stars

I would be lost without this addon, I'm in front of the computer all day and want to make text as large as possible so my eyes don't get strained.

But I would like to see the following feature: a button or hot-key that allows instant switching between the current zoom levels and no zoom levels. That is, sometimes I want to see a site at 100% zoom / 100% text zoom. Right now I have to go in and manually change these. I'd like a way to go from my default zoom levels (120% zoom / 130% text zoom) to 100%/100% with one button or hotkey. And then pressing the same button or hotkey would restore my personal zoom settings. Sometimes I want to see a site the way it was designed for a moment, and then switch back to my own zoom levels. In fact, I often want to do this.

A button or hotkey like that would make this addon absolutely perfect.

To all the nuts calling this app's dev names for not updating, get a life. The add-on can be fixed by changing the maximum version within the XPI file in about 20 seconds. I'd never done it before and I did it in a heartbeat.
Bitch about things enough and the dev won't bother updating his stuff at all. It's not his fault that Mozilla is coming out with a new version of TB every 3 weeks.

StartupMaster

Rated 5 out of 5 stars

Works great in 3.1!

Before, a password prompt would pop up, then the TB window would cover it, then another password prompt would pop up. I'd have to type in the password, minimize the TB window, and type in the password again. Horrible! Now I don't have to, thanks very much!

Awesome, fixes infamous 1227.com rickrolling site. Didn't want to add a huge extension like NoScript for the few times I get caught on an endless loop javascript alert popup site. Just what I need, thanks!!!!

Element Hiding Helper for Adblock Plus

Rated 5 out of 5 stars

While AdBlock Plus is a mandatory addition to Firefox, this addon is a mandatory addition to AdBlock Plus. Awesome, easy to use. I love the people who made this possible.

Mnenhy

Rated 5 out of 5 stars

This is a 'must-have' addon for TB, In my opinion. I only use one aspect of Mnenhy, however, and that is the ability to select the exact headers that I want displayed. I need to see the CC headers for my emailing purposes--I need to see everyone who received the email that was sent to me. Without Mnenhy, I have to enable the massive 'full headers' to do this, and that takes up a large part of my screen. With this addon I can specify the CCs and any other parts of the header to show, and TB will ONLY show those headers.

This can be used with the addon Compact Header, which allows further customization of the header window. Mozilla's inane idea to put redundant and ugly big buttons within the header space makes these two extensions mandatory.
