My Reviews

Torbutton

Rated 3 out of 5 stars

Seems to work. Could use some simplification with options with three setting sets: recommended, unsafe (configure for tor only), and secure.

Maybe the homepage also needs to be updated for the new version?

deviantAnywhere

Very useful, but very buggy Rated 4 out of 5 stars

This is a great piece of software, and saves my an enormous amount of time to manage my dA messages, I can't live without it. However, it has several bugs which keep it from getting five stars.

I use it on linux with the latest firefox, and there are many visual glitches and problems. Specifically:
· The "custom colors" options don't make any difference, the hover box is fluo green with black border regardless of what I choose. Looks like a transparency issue.
· The dA logo isn't shown.
· New message notifications aren't show like in the image, but instead "fall" from the top left to the bottom left very quickly, and disappear down there before I can read the box content.
· In the preferences window, I can't see the icon of the selected tab. Clicking on the other tab makes the former visible, and the latter invisible.

These are the main issues with the extension, which is otherwise perfect. I've been looking for a piece of software like this in a moment of sanity just before starting to write my own, and I love it to death :-)

Hide Menubar

Rated 1 out of 5 stars

Worked great with FF3 but works horribly with FF3.5. Alt-Tab displays menu. Random menu pop-ups for no reason even with autoshow turned off.

Gmail S/MIME

Great extension, installed very easily and works as described. If only the signature verification would work it would be even better! Hope that Sean and Richard keep further developing and enhancing this great tool.

Qute 3++

That's great! I hated the new style of qute4!

Qute

i hate the new style, loved the old style, i will switch to Qute 3++

Tab Control

Rated 4 out of 5 stars

Small and effective though I suspect there's a memory leak somewhere. Go ahead and check the memory usage before and after installing this extension. Also, when you have a lot of tabs open (enough to have the blue arrow show up to scroll the tabs), the next time you start the browser, the tabs will be opened out of order.

BugMeNot

Used to work beautifully before but there are some problems when used with 3.x versions of Firefox. Multiple logins no longer work. You used to get an arrow in the context menu which would give you the ability to choose different accounts in case the first one didn't work. Now the majority of first logins don't work and you can't change to a different one. This renders the extension obsolete.

Clear Private Data... +

Extra functionality suggestions Rated 4 out of 5 stars

Hi there. Thanks for the wonderfull script.

Two extra functionality suggestions for your next version are:

1. Provide us with a shortcut key so we can call it immediately from the keyboard (F9 maybe?)

2. If possible, provide us with an option tab where we can 'pre-select' which items we want to clear. I use the plugin while i'm webdeveloping and i want to clear cookies. By default, the options that are checked do not contain cookies so i have to do a couple of clicks more and its painful. Therefore, it would be nice if we had an option to 'pre-select' the default items which are about to be cleaned ;-)

anyway, all in all, a simple plugin to use that was missing from firefox3. i give it 4 stars from now, with the expectation to see the features that i suggested, so it can take a 5/5 ;-)

best regards
