My Reviews

PitchDark for TB

After update - forgot how much I needed this Rated 5 out of 5 stars

Since Mozilla feels their products should also be used as emergency beacons (the only explanation for being so bright white), I needed to tone it down.
I've used this theme for a while, which does almost everything I need. While there is a mild issue with unselecting a single email in a group (might just be Thunderbird), this mild issue is blown away by how much of an improvement this is over the standard view.

After this recent update, I was almost willing to use gmail.com, just to save my eyes. Then I found I could re-enable this, egads.... so much better.

And those "themes" that only change the top bar, those are pointless. You are still left with a barren white page straight out of the 80s. Who cares what the title bar looks like, I'm looking at the actual screen more than one little section.

MR Tech Toolkit

Rated 5 out of 5 stars

This add-on allowed me to use the only theme I could stand for Thunderbird. For that, I owe you big time. If for nothing else than making Perfect Dark work again, I will rate this 5 stars; anything else is just a bonus.

Color That Site!

Rated 2 out of 5 stars

While I would love to try using this addon, as it seems like something I would enjoy a lot, I find it unusable. In the images, you have black text on the light purple/white background.. however in the addon it is white text. This renders the addon unusable, really, as it is completely impossible to read how to use it.

I was able to get the general idea while playing, but then I ran into an issue where some sites weren't able to change anything but a banner at the top. So, great idea, which I give you props for, but a design that still needs work.

In The Dark

Rated 5 out of 5 stars

The only theme I can stand to use. Simple, clean, and colors that don't punish the eye for daring to look at the screen. Thanks to this add-on, I have launched into a search for one similar on Thunderbird to not avail.
If it would be possible to bring this to TB, I would enjoy it all the more. :)
Again, the epitome of what a theme should be. Solid, clean, minimalistic so you don't have your screen space taken up by junk.

Download Statusbar

Rated 4 out of 5 stars

Nice add-on, I just wish there was an option to autoclose the bar when the download is complete. That drives me crazy having it down there.

Otherwise, decent, and keeps a window out of the way. Does what it says it does.

Flashblock

A necessary component Rated 5 out of 5 stars

Seems to me that this is a necessary addition to FF. In today's net of ad-based virus attacks when ad companies are compromised, you can't really trust any site. I also LOVE that I don't have to listen to flash ads that use video or speech, as that is beyond annoying.

I don't mind turning on the flash I want piece by piece, because with Ad-block Plus, Noscript, and this addon, I do believe Firefox is about the safest a browser can be.
