It totally works. You just need to go into the settings (aka DownloadThemAll! Preferences) and under the Filters tab, tick the checkbox for "Pictures and Embedded Filter".
Once that is engaged, you'll see a new filter option in the DownloadThemAll window for "AntiContainer". That's where this addon will do it's work. Just make sure that filter is checked, and it'll work as advertised.
Thanks so much to the developers for this great addon.
Yes, of course the addon still works for most videos on most sites. It's not like it just stopped altogther...
What people are complaining about is legitimate. CERTAIN videos will not download (for example, those on Vevo channels). This has been a problem in the past. YouTube has been constantly changing code to make popular music and mainstream content more difficult to download.
What everyone is complaining about is that they changed something again, and now VDH doesn't work for those videos (again), and the addon hasn't yet been updated to overcome this change.
Go back through the support/bug reports and you'll see this has happened numerous times.
It took a while to troubleshoot this, but I discovered this addon is one thing that can cause the infamous "Redirect Notice" that pops up every time you click to view a result from Google Image Search.
I just thought people might be interested to know one possible reason they might be experiencing that.
Also, how exactly do we know the addon is working? Is there some easy way to confirm how the requests are being routed?
No, it seems something did change. I keep getting phantom downloads. A "0 bytes" download shows up in the downloads manager, and no file shows up in the designated download location.
I've experienced this issue before, and it stopped happening after a few days. I'm not sure what causes it. Can anyone else confirm?
For anyone interested, this add-on used to be called "Cache view".
It's a convenient little tool. I downloaded it some time ago, before the name change, thinking it sounded neat, but quickly forgot about it and never really used it. When I noticed the update I looked back into it and still didn't think I'd use it too often, and while I might be right, I did end up downloading the update and already used it twice today. I guess you don't really notice how many dead links you come across until you can actually do something about it.
I've been looking for an update to this that works for ff3.6 for so long...and I finally found it.
Show Parent Folder. It is up to date, works great and compatible with FF 3.5-3.7
A nice complement to this is Go To Parent Folder.
Can we please get an update to this or a new addon that performs these functions for 3.6???
This is so valuable
I'm with all these other reviewers. This was one of the most useful addons I ever downloaded.
I even kept my Firefox 2.x installed in large part just for this addon.
Someone PLEASE update it for 3.6 compatibility or create a new tool that performs the same functions.
It looks like YouTube changed the page coding...
Unplug worked great there until a day or two ago...Now it doesn't find anything.
Time for an update?
