I'm coding since early teenage years.
I made a fix for the "fetch text url" extension, for ff3.6 or other software using the newest gecko engine, that you can download here:
I suggest everyone changes the .xpi file on their own though, I posted some help on the extension's reviews (don't forget to alter the maxVersion in the install.rdf of the .xpi and don't forget that .xpi is a zip in disguise.. so renaming works)

To make this work with FF 3.6.* you need to create a chrome.manifest inside the .xpi instead of the deprecated .rdf files (see: https://developer.mozilla.org/en/Chrome_Registration#section_26). It worked for me.

I've been using this extension for ages and it's pretty useful, hopefully there'll be an official update someday.
