My Reviews

rein

Rated 5 out of 5 stars

This is the first review I've ever thought of leaving for a theme: Elegant, beautiful, seamless!
Even with the couple of bugs, like breaking some dialog windows (such as Zotero); this is still by far the best all-around theme for my taste: extremely functional eye-candy.

This review is for a previous version of the add-on (3.5.1).

Interclue

Rated 5 out of 5 stars

Without a doubt one of the top 2 or 3 FF addons. Bravo! Saves time, bandwidth and wrong-turns.

Small feature request:
Is there a way to make appearance of the linkclue more customizable? For example, one might want to activate the clue by a ctrl-click (or alt-click, etc...) on a link instead of hovering over the linclue icon.

This review is for a previous version of the add-on (1.6.1.1).

All-in-One Sidebar

Rated 3 out of 5 stars

Probably the most overrated addon for firefox. I used AiOSB for a long time, until I realized, only recently unfortunately, that it is largely unnecessary, is a memory hog, may cause addon conflicts, and significantly slows down FF especially at startup. Perhaps others are experiencing different performance with it; but I urge you to try disabling and seeing if your FF or Minefield do not work better. AiOSB's main attraction is being able to quickly view and adjust your other addons or to view bookmarks in the sidebar: Both of these can be done without AiOSB by simply using a shortcut to get to "addons" in the toolmenu and to opening bookmarks (such as delicious) on the side w/o installing a separate "sidebar" addon.

Plain Text to Link

Rated 4 out of 5 stars

Well, this IS a great addon if you don't have greasemonkey installed. However, if you have greasemonkey, intalling the userscript
http://userscripts.org/scripts/show/7122
works much better. The script actually makes the text-link clickable, saving you the time of context-menu clicking and scrolling down to the "open with pttl." In general, whenever you can install the functionality of an "addon" as a userscript, userstyle, about:config tweak, or usercrome.css tweak, it might be advisable to do it in that way because it will minimize the number of addons you have installed and the need to "update". This is especially true because some addon authors do not get a chance to change the version compatibility setting on their addons, as is the case with this one. What do other people think about using alternatives to addons?

Sage-Too

No support & no update to 3.1 Rated 2 out of 5 stars

Yes, this is partly a problem report, but I am not getting any help from the support section. I updated from Sage to Sage-too and I am unable to either view my old feeds nor add new ones:
Firefox can't find the file at jar:file:///C:/Users/[name]/AppData/Roaming/Mozilla/Firefox/Profiles/3w7oetqi.default/extensions/{0f9daf7e-2ee2-4fcf-9d4f-d43d93963420}/chrome/sage.jar!/content/feedsummary.html?uri=http://www.democracynow.org/[page].rss.
