Unobtrusive, convenient, and efficient, one of my constant companion(tm) extensions for years now.
Alas, seems to be R.I.P. on dev builds (bug 928349, I guess), so enjoy it while it lasts, and root for "Download Statusbar 2".
Missed it greatly during the recent absence. The awesome bar isn't nearly so without it.This review is for a previous version of the add-on (1.5.5).
I'm afraid Bug 574688 - replace the status bar with the addon bar <https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=574688> &/or Bug 587908 - On hyperlink hover, display the target in the location bar <https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=587908> has broken Link Status, and I'm sad.
I restart frequently with a lot of tabs open, and this seems to speed things up considerably.
Also, seems to be compatible with Tab Kit extension. Could have been a deal breaker :)
Using the sand-boxed version (1.2), on current windows trunk (Minefield/3.7a2pre).
I've been using it for ~forever, and have never had a problem with it.This review is for a previous version of the add-on (6.3).
Does what I want and does it well, without overkill. This review is for a previous version of the add-on (0.9.2).
Works great, no malfunctions in months of use. Smooth, polished and useful. This review is for a previous version of the add-on (0.4.8.1).
I use this addon almost exclusively for one thing (so far unmentioned), but for that it's nigh on perfect.
Some sites hide the "visited" state of links with CSS. Now I can tell which ones I've already checked with one click. It makes me smile.
Like most of the rest have said, it's really cool, but not of too much practical use at this point. 3 *'s for potential.
I think About:Tab, also by the Auto Dial guy, might be worth your attention.
I appreciate this addon all the more after having to do without it for a while.
It was not a pleasant experience, but it seems to be over now :)
Feature request--any way to get the tooltip from the underlying URL, when somebody uses unhelpful anchor text for a link? This review is for a previous version of the add-on (1.0).
People on forums who posted naked bug id's, with no other information, used to make me grind my teeth. It's much better now....
Also works great with pushlog pages. Dev's comments can be cryptic, sometimes.
The restart problem, I'm pretty sure, was the min tab width setting thing mentioned elsewhere. I'd fiddled with it after the (irrelevant) restart. This review is for a previous version of the add-on (0.4.0).
Using 0.4.0, and it's a beautiful thing. 5 *'s.
Seemed to have to restart fx one extra time on install to get it to work, but that may have been my imagination.
Loved it, until it stopped working on trunk. Hope there is an update someday....This review is for a previous version of the add-on (0.4.2008061601).
The UI seems a little awkward, at least to this non-Mac-user, but I like what it can do. I've got a few of Alice's add-ons installed which may help enhance things too.
Combine this addon's functionality with TagSifter's sidebar interface, add complex-query saving, and life will be SO good....
Wonderful UI in the sidebar, but doesn't let me do enough (change tags, etc) with the found bookmarks. Tag Finder addon has a clunkier UI, but lets me do more.
The two merged would be well-nigh perfect, given current state-of-the-art.
Thanks for this. I'd come to believe it wasn't going to be workable. I'm glad I was wrong!
Beauty. Works like a charm.
I've been wishing out loud in blog comments and fora for exactly this. Now I can shut up.
