My Reviews

Self-Destructing Cookies

Very smart Rated 5 out of 5 stars

I'll watch how it behaves in detail, but the idea is excellent and I was positively surprised that it seems to integrate seamlessly with Firefox' cookie blacklist/whitelist: I already block all cookies, so my whitelist is valuable and I like it's being reused directly.

Remove Google Tracking

Rated 5 out of 5 stars

I've been using this for a few weeks and had no problems at all. I didn't check all the tracking systems but it surely removes the nasty Google redirects: now I go directly to websites I want! I'm using Firefox 25.0 (on fedora).

Manually sort folders

Rated 5 out of 5 stars

I use POP3/SMTP and sort stuff as really needed; the update to Thunderbird 24.0 completely messed up my directories hiding from view everything I needed, this add-on saved me.

Fastest Search

Rated 5 out of 5 stars

Thank you, at last I found a replacement for /Find bar/ and Find In Tabs, which I missed so much in the last releases... I've been waiting for someone to create such an extension since years ago, probably!
No more wasting time skimming a page for patterns or carefully reading it all to be sure of losing something; now I can just type a quick regex and be sure of success. Thank you very much.

CompactHeader

Thank you so much, this was driving me crazy! I Don't understand such decisions about Thunderbird 3...

Grab Them All (screenshots of many pages)

Rated 2 out of 5 stars

It fails with huge pages, but I like that you can choose how long to wait for the process to complete and that when the time expires it generates a report. My error was [Exception... "Component returned failure code: 0x80004005 (NS_ERROR_FAILURE) [nsIDOMCanvasRenderingContext2D.drawWindow]" nsresult: "0x80004005 (NS_ERROR_FAILURE)" location: "JS frame :: chrome://grabthemall/content/js/GrabThemAll_ScreenShot.js :: anonymous :: line 49" data: no].

Picozu Shooter

Rated 2 out of 5 stars

It doesn't work with huge pages, but at least it gives some error [Exception... "Component returned failure code: 0x80004005 (NS_ERROR_FAILURE) [nsIDOMCanvasRenderingContext2D.drawWindow]" nsresult: "0x80004005 (NS_ERROR_FAILURE)" location: "JS frame :: chrome://shooter/content/capture.js :: anonymous :: line 98" data: no].

PixelZoomer

Rated 3 out of 5 stars

Not useful if you want to capture the whole page; only to select part of the currently viewed part of the page.

Screenshot

Rated 1 out of 5 stars

Fails with no error message at alll with huge pages.

Aviary Screen Capture & Quick Launch (Talon)

Rated 1 out of 5 stars

It fails with huge pages but it says that it's working on it (for some dozens of minutes).
the interface is horribly messy and cluttering.

This review is for a previous version of the add-on (0.8.7.3).

Screen Capture Elite

Rated 1 out of 5 stars

Fails with no messages with some pages (I've tried with a huge one).

This review is for a previous version of the add-on (1.0.0.12).

Screengrab

Rated 1 out of 5 stars

Fails with no messages with some pages (i've tried with a huge one).

Pearl Crescent Page Saver Basic screenshot tool

Rated 2 out of 5 stars

It doesn't fail with huge pages, and it managed to save a 32,000 long png, too bad that for some "size limits" by Firefox the image was in fact empty (background only after some dozens of lines). At least there's a nice error message.

Wiktionary (en)

Awesome Rated 5 out of 5 stars

Very useful dictionary, with lots of examples, details and also images.

Remove Duplicate Messages (Alternate)

Rated 5 out of 5 stars

Works perfectly for me on 2.0.0.23 (20090817), and is surprisingly fast.
Thank you, I used to have lots of duplicated RSS feeds, now to delete them I need only a second.

Lazarus: Form Recovery

Rated 3 out of 5 stars

Powerful, but when I post high amount of text (e.g. on wikis) it's very slow. AutoSaveText has an option to use local files instead of cookies, and that's quite useful.

This review is for a previous version of the add-on (2.0.3).

Easy DragToGo

Rated 3 out of 5 stars

Good, but not as flexible as Autocontext is, not as useful as All-in-one-gestures, not compatible with Web Seach Pro.

Auto Context

Rated 5 out of 5 stars

@r3df0x: That's Web Search Pro. ;-) It has also a "drag and drop" function to search selected text on the customized search engines (useful, but less simple than Auto Context).

This review is for a previous version of the add-on (1.4.5.3).

MultiSearch

Rated 3 out of 5 stars

Not compatible with Web Search Pro. What a pity: multiple string search on multiple engines would be sooo useful!

Auto Context

Rated 5 out of 5 stars

Lots of functions which I don't use and I simply disable, but the search function is very useful when I have to search multiple strings contained in a page; it uses the search engines added to the search bar by "Add to search bar" too and "Web Search Pro", too, but it can't search multiple engines as in the latter: what a pity!
