Buttons!

Rated 5 out of 5 stars

Always nice to have a wider choice of buttons... though I don't use many, the ones I do use I need extensions for.

Oberfeldwebel,

The instructions for installing in Thunderbird are right above the download link.

If you just click on the download link like you would any link, it will attempt to automatically install to Firefox.

Here's more detailed instructions if you need it:

Right-click the "download now" link (RIGHT-click).

Save the .xpi file to a convenient location.

Open Thunderbird.

Go to "tools" > "add-ons."

In the add-ons window, click the "install" button.

In the file window which pops up, navigate to the directory where you saved the file and select the file. Click "open" or "ok."

Click the "install now" button in the window that pops up.

After it installs, click the "restart now" button.

Alternatively, save the file to your desktop. Open up "tools" > "add-ons" and drag the file from your desktop into the add-ons window. Click "install now" and restart as normal.

Column Bookmarks

Well, I read some of the older comments, and it seems the method in the link I gave will not work for this extension.

Sorry about that.

My mom is going to be ticked. I'll have to downgrade her to FF2 so she can have her columns.

Those who have FF 3.*, try this out:

http://www.dailygyan.com/2008/03/how-to-install-delicious-extension-in.html

Doesn't help me with this particular extension, since for some unknown reason it apparently doesn't work in Linux (sigh... I deducted two stars in my rating just for that)... but will work with many, though not all, old extensions in both Windows and Linux versions.

Give it a try.

I agree that column bookmarks should be standard in Firefox. Sometimes I wonder about the developers and their decision making process ("hey man, let's make people scroll down a three or four page list to find their bookmarks! That would be funny." "Right on, man... totally hilarious... hey, pass me that joint you bogart!").

Diolch yn fawr.

Firesomething

Has anyone mentioned that you need to update it for Firesomething 3.*?

Print/Print Preview

Pretty nice. Now I no longer need the "Print" extension which adds a print option to the right click context menu. This puts a better one there for me.

(I couldn't care less about toolbar buttons, personally. I prefer to right click.)

This review is for a previous version of the add-on (0.6).

Fox Splitter (formerly Split Browser)

Rated 5 out of 5 stars

Oh wow, man! It's totally far out. I mean, I really dig it, man.

I mix a little Tab Kit in with some Split Browser, and suddenly there are lots of colors, and I'm seeing like triple or quadruple vision!

It's really trippy, man. I hope it doesn't wear off too quick.

This review is for a previous version of the add-on (0.4.2008061601).
