Massive YUCK!!! Rated 1 out of 5 stars
Version 5.01 has provided more fan support for FVD than FVD did on their own. This review is for a previous version of the add-on (220.127.116.11-signed).
Another update. Another mystery Rated 4 out of 5 stars
Update to FF 23 removes PlainOldFavorites from the Navigation Toolbar. However, PlainOldFavorites appears at the right end of the Bookmark Toolbar, replacing the FF Bookmarks.
Things that make you say hmmm.
Workaround for FF22 Not Compatible Rated 3 out of 5 stars
Hoping this will be fixed soon. But there is a simple workaround for Windows machines with Firefox as the default browser.Right click the Start button, left click Properties. On XP, left click Advanced. On XP, Vista and 7, left click Customize and put a check mark next to Favorites Menu. Click OK. Click OK.On Win 8 with Start Menu 8, right click Start button, left click Settings, left click Menu. Set Favorites to Show as a Menu. Click OK. Now your Favorites will appear in the right-handed column when you click the Start button. Windows 8.1 Preview does not have a customize feature for its stripped-down resurrected Start button. This review is for a previous version of the add-on (1.2). This user has other reviews of this add-on.
Is Developer's Apologies Enough Rated 2 out of 5 stars
This is a regularly suggested add-on for my customers, along with a reminder to donate to those add-ons you treasure. However, this Price Comparison feature was quite embarrassing to deal with. My recommendation has now turned into a word of caution.
Sure the developer apologized for any misgivings and pointed out how easily the option can be turned off. But, now are we to trust this developer or Mozilla's watchdogs in the future. How is it that today's business brains consider this type of invasion good business sense? How is it that we are letting them get away with it? I recommend you not support anyone who advertises this way.
FF 7.01 Not Showing Fav Icon Rated 4 out of 5 stars
PlainOldFavorites is great. However, FF 7.01 removes both the Bookmarks and PlainOldFavorites icons from the Navigation bar. Now to access favorites, you need to display the Menu bar continuously or click the orange Firefox menu button and then click Bookmarks or Favorites. A small additional step, but one that was not required before the "new and improved" FF arrived.
Further research... don't know how it happened but the icons were still available; they were simply hidden. After getting an update to FF 7.01, a right click on the Navigation bar and click Customize and I was able to get the icons back.
