My Reviews

Xmarks Sync

Rated 1 out of 5 stars

Sorry, but I had to uninstall it and change to a different extension. I was an enthusiastic FoxMarks user, and continued all through the name change -- until this latest version became such a resource hog (both memory and CPU time) that it slowed Firefox to a crawl. I observed this effect running FF on both Windowx XP Pro and Kubuntu Linux 9.10. As a matter of fact, I also observed it with the Google Chrome version of XMarks running under both OSes. Uninstalled it and replaced it with Weave Browser Sync. Immediately, resource consumption returned to normal.

Developers, I think you have managed to ruin a great extension by trying to make it do too much.

Favicon Picker 3

Great, but no longer works with 3.2 Rated 4 out of 5 stars

Been testing it with the 3.2a1pre nightlies. As of the 1/25/09 nightly, it stopped working. Now, it "poisons" the browser's tab system, so must be disabled or removed. Hope you can fix the problem soon.

Signature

Another Way to Make It Work Rated 5 out of 5 stars

As an alternative to riffian's method for making Signature work in FF3, try installing the Nightly Tester Tools extension. It has many functions, but you need only one: the feature which allows you to override the compatibility of individual extensions with a right-click. Don't use the "Override all compatibility" button, because it may get you in trouble with some other extensions. Either way you do it, though, Signature works just as well under FF3 as under FF2.
