Good for heavy duty Firefox users Rated 5 out of 5 stars
Sometime Firefox RAM is just way to high and you need to restart before it crashes. I have several dozen add-ons active in Firefox, so Firefox is bound to get memory leaks from unexpected interactions of your add-ons. Even if you don't use many add-ons just try scrolling through Facebook.com, tumblr.com, or Google image search will chew up RAM into the Gigabytes and most likely crash before you get to the end of a huge timeline. These "infinite" pages cause more and more RAM to get locked up in Firefox, so Firefox and other apps performance tends to suffer especially on machines with 2GB RAM or lower. I find that if I let it get anywhere nears 1.5GB Firefox will crash. I think it is probably when Virtual Memory size goes over 2GB that seem to be the problem. This add on lets you see how big (approximately) your "in memory usage" (RAM) has reached. If you see it getting closer to the point of crashing (may vary but you will figure it out what your threshold value is) you can just click the memory usage value (Ticker in bottom right corner of add-on bar) and do a restart. I also have set "Don't load tabs until selected" (found in tab mix plus) so restart will take me back to around 300MB RAM use.
Some reviews indicate that restart is occurring unexpectedly, so just to clarify the "Memory Restart Preferences", I set "Firefox memory threshold" to "1500". That setting is when the color changes, and when a auto-restart will occur. When you first install don't use the auto restart just get familiar with how much RAM Firefox is sucking up and tune the threshold for yourself. When you figure out what value you want to use, find a site that makes an alert - http://i.imgur.com/WUJwDqU.png (e.g. Mibbit.com has a "Confirm navigate away" option or most posting/web mail editors will do this) when you close your browser. Keep that page open and use Firefox for a few days, so you can see when an auto restart is triggered as http://i.imgur.com/WUJwDqU.png will pop up when Firefox tries to shutdown. This can be useful if your in them middle of writing something long and you have not saved it and need to abort the restart for a few minutes to cleanup.
If you use Firefox heavily and you notice it using huge amount of RAM and want to do restarts before it crashes this is a useful add-on to help you.
ps. Noticed "[13:56:16.969] TypeError: strings.getString is not a function @ chrome://memoryrestart/content/memoryrestart.js:128" occurring 2 per minute on console log - reported it to developer.
A bit too simple Rated 3 out of 5 stars
As stated this is a "very simple" addon, and that causes some quite useful features to be lost. Most browsers now offer middle button click on URL to open link in new tab, but this add-on will override that. The "middlemouse.scrollbarPosition":True config option allow middle click in scroll bar will stop working with this add-on. Compatible with tab mix plus add-on's close/open by clicking in tab bar area in case you use that too.
It would smarter if this add-on only did "back" when you click ANYWHERE THAT IS NOT A URL or the scroll bar area, which would make it a great add-on to enhance existing middle button functions of "open link in New Tab", and "middlemouse.scrollbarPosition":True If you don't have any use for those two features then the add-on is fine even though you loose them.
I did not test with "middlemouse.paste" set to true but should be safe to assume that it will not work as well with this add-on.
Tip for clearing status bar Rated 5 out of 5 stars
I am sticking with Firefox 25.0.1 as this is one of the show stoppers add ons preventing me doing an upgrade. It is now in late of 2014 and still not seeing any sign of version 2.x yet, but still working fine with v0.9.10.
I noticed a little glitch, sometimes I accidentally generate a file download which has a 256 char name. (Done by "save as image" addon auto name creation on double click.) The file name (as path is too long) fails to download, takes up entire length of the Download Statusbar area, AND it will not popup the context menu so you can not choose "Clear from bar". The workaround is to right click "Download" button in left hand corner and choose "download history" then search for the bad file name, right-click and choose "remove from list" this will clear it from status bar as well.
Exactly What I'm looking for too Rated 5 out of 5 stars
Good job and just what I need. As other have mentioned it does not provide a context menu item for the "All bookmarks" view but bookmark toolbar does work. I put my entire collection under in a folder that is on the bookmark toolbar so that is kind of a "workaround". Supporting the "all bookmarks" view can be done "Show Parent Folder " adds items to bookmark context menu so that may be a useful code model to examine. I hope both these add-ons continue to coexist as I will be using them as long as they are available.
Essential UI feature for power users Rated 4 out of 5 stars
There is nothing more annoying than news and review sites that split a few paragraphs of the article per page then create a series of linked pages (eg let's say page 1,2 ,3 ... of 11) filled with rubbish adverts or padding you don't need. If you want to save all the article as one page keeping as much of the original style "re-pagination" with a few other tools can do the job. "re-pagination" will load the other 10 pages appended into the current page tab. An article over 11 pages is now one page tab. Once you have this you can then use other ad-dons like "hacktheweb" to remove text and images not needed (like heading and footings repeated 11 times). Finish of your composition with "print Edit" or "UnMHT" to give you a PDF or MHT file with the content you desire.
Not all linked pages are detected but if your lucky it will work with the page you want. For example this review page is "page 1 of 2" but trying "re-pagination" on the "> >" link does not work. A "google.com" search that has muliple pages does work with re-pagination.
I found that some sites generate "doc.getElementByTagName is not a function" message once for each appending (10 pages = 10 pop up alerts). It is annoying but the appending is still successful. An example that gives this message is a google.com search. On some sites each page append may take up to 10 secs, and there is no "page is loading indicator" during the appending so make sure you give "re-pagination" enough time before giving up.
Tested FFX 25.0.1 + Win XP.
As is it is still highly recommended as I have found nothing else that provides this feature.
Essential UI feature for power users Rated 5 out of 5 stars
I noticed that the button is not loaded when I open a private browser window and this is the first add-on I have seen that has this behavior.
I would like to suggest an optional timer function - that is when you click the button you disable only for a user defined period of time as most of the time I don't have a problem with the mixed content blocking being active I just need it to stop screwing up with my bookmarklets :-)

Not working with FFX v25.0.1
To doiken please change title "enhanced findbar" to "Enhanced Findbar" so it appears consistent with other EVERY OTHER ADDON in addons manager listing.

A good time saver if you have the need to extract multiple links from a page that use file sharing hosts. Works well with clipboard grabbing down-loaders like Jdownloader. Tip: Greatis Toys utility's (windows program) has a Clipboard feature - keeps the clip history up to 50 clips. That tool let's you set a hotkey to show what you have copied to clipboard. A very useful triple combination if your doing a lot of quick copying and pasting.
Say goodbye to repeatedly changing the save folder Rated 4 out of 5 stars
If your the type of person who has a collection of folders you use for saving web content (e.g. banking statement, e-bills, receipt folders) this add-on can save you some of that repetitive changing folders. You can have a specific folders for specific sites and that is just what I was looking for.
I have tested beta version update from developer's website with FireFoX 25.0.1 and works well. As the developer has said you need this version if run FFX 17 or higher. I had to change some of the setting defaults to get it to behave like what I expected from the screenshot and in a way that I liked. It has lots of options to customize it to work the way you want.
Here are the settings I chose - it may help if your not sure what to try.
select "Always ask me where to save"
View options ... "Always show"
Suggest all possible folder
View the list of folders
Right click (tick both boxes)
Page 2 tab:
add a test filter (and make sure the catch all filter is "*", "*" is at bottom of list)
If the file doesn't match any filter save to - "last folder" and "memorize on site-by-site"
Thank you Cyan for a very comprehensive feature set. This one goes in my must have collection.

I was able use this for a firefox 6.x (partially worked). Tested this addon with "enhanced findbar" on FFX 25.0.1 but it broke "find next" (F3 shortcut), so sadly retiring this addon now.
Needs more flexibility (suggestion) Rated 4 out of 5 stars
Great addon as most modern browsers these days are basically memory PIGS when you have multiple tabs open. The addon indicator reminds when I need to cull some tabs or restart. On the subject of RESTART, I really need to have an option to suppress showing the file menu restart option as I already have this being added by another addon. I don't want to use the file menu option you have added in "memory-restart " unless it can be configured WITHOUT a confirmation prompt but still keeping confirmation for the add-on bar because it is to easy to accidentally click the indicator.
An earlier comment mentions spam on console log - I am seeing "https://careers.mozilla.org" message from tabzilla.js does this have anything to do with this extension?
Needs a good voice database Rated 5 out of 5 stars
I compared this to an Opera v11.x browser voice (discontinued) and a Chrome browser with "Select and Speak". FoxVox english voice does not speak as well as the other two browsers. FoxVox extension with the default English voice is adequate. I downloaded a better quality voices bit.ly/MBRvoiceDB and put them in the FoxVox extension installation directory. With the upgraded voice it was MUCH better but the Chrome browser still has better voice. I could not see any way to get a better voice for free. I compared it to "Text to Voice" extension and FoxVox sounds better. The ability to get better voice databases is an advantage for FoxVox. I also edited the extension to launch any player I choose, so now I use VLC player to play the file it creates and I have controls to start/stop, volume and speed controls (more info at bit.ly/FoxVoxFix ). As the voice quality is limited speeding up the play rate more than 1.5x does not really work well due to the voice quality. FoxVox is must have extension for Firefox if selecting text to be read in your language's voice is a feature you desire.
Alternative to re-pagination Rated 4 out of 5 stars
I still use this on firefox v6 portable (I think you have to edit package to override version number check) but not all sites work with it. I am also trying on another PC with the "Re-Pagination by Nils Maier" and firefox v25 that too works with some sites. Hope that helps people. The mentioned addon is listed in my collection if your search wont find it.
using "next page" link on pages at dana-juno.tumblr.com (just dog pics):
-- RE-Pagination by fremea - will re-page ok on that site ffx v6.x
-- Re-Pagination by Nils Maier - will re-page works ok
using "older entries" link on pages at any wordpress based site:
-- RE-Pagination by fremea - will re-page works fine on firefoxx v6.x
-- Re-Pagination by Nils Maier - will re-page on firefox v25.
Those are the main sites see I use it for. Your mileage may vary depending on site visited it just depends how the page link is implemented.

Four stars for v3.1 on of my must have extensions until web apps stop timing out and browsers stop crashing. If you love this extension then another useful tools that keeps a clipboard history is "Greatis Toys" (it is a windows utility you can grab from their web site and set a hot corner or hot key). It is NOT an extension but it is very useful if you do a lot of cut and pasting into web pages and forms as sometimes Lazarus does not grab data but you got a copy in clipboard history. These two tools make life easier for a power user. Lazarus: Form Recovery Version 2.3 is last version on addons.mozilla.org so how come developer webiste is up to v3.2 ? It would be nice to have addons.mozilla.org refreshed with an up to date version. it would be nice if there was a way to view all data in Lazarus because sometime I know it should have form data but when I try back the next day nothing is suggested it may not be 100% correct but is still awesome.
Causes issue with alert boxes Rated 1 out of 5 stars
Has anyone else had this issue?
July 2013 update:Tried to test again - getting error about site certificate when using button "http://add2cal.blackdrumm.com/" connection is generated by button but site is no longer available. Button may not be working now.
Needs explanation Rated 1 out of 5 stars
I too will not install add-on that the author can't describe in layperson terms.
I found this link :
which MAY be the same thing that this ad-don does. So I guess this ad-don scans the wiki page and for the starting paragraphs and by each wiki section grouping to create a visual representation of the links in that section.
Am I right? If so how does this helps with research? If not then what does it do?
Untested and rated poor for documentation.
Ideal for tracking WWW pages you collect, and correct another reviewer Rated 4 out of 5 stars
I find this is a very useful addon and is on my must have list along with "Nuke Anything Enhanced" and "Title Save" which relate to URI tracking (see next paragraphs).
This addon works with most "average" web pages. There are plenty of frame based pages, and some "portal" type index pages which will get multiple "saveuri" insertions which can stuff up menus and navigation and make for ugly saving or printing. As workaround I recommend loading addon "Nuke Anything Enhanced" so you can remove extra "saveuri" and other page elements. That fixes a lot but not all cases.
For anyone who is looking to track the URI of where they obtained the saved/printed version, I think these features would help if they were added to future versions:
Item1: imbed comment in web html "[comment tag] saved from uri= http: ... [close comment tag]" at the top of html code. Some other browsers do this eg Microsoft IE6. This is also a feature found in addon "Title Save". This part of the functionality needs to be integrated into this addon as an optional feature. Not everyone would want to use "Title Save" addon, although I like this one too.
Item2: an option to switch off the saved uri" insertion AND/OR item one
Item3: optional status bar icon AND toolbar button indicating if item1 and item2 are on or off (could be color coded icon).
This would allow those frame pages to be saved by turning off addon visible "saveuri" feature and reloading the web page. In my case I would always have item 1 "on" and SOMETIMES item 2 turned "off".
To the reviewer warning about filename lengths: this addon does not change the save filename to the URI, so that review is irrelevant.
Update Note 2012:
I stopped using saveuri and mostly save pages with UnMHT 5.7.0 by arai_a. When I need the original URL it can usually be found by opening the MHT file in plain text editor (eg metapad) and finding header line "Content-Location:".
I have found that the MHT files now work well across several browsers (ie create in FF, read in opera or IE or chrome) which now make this an acceptable alternative. Earlier versions of MHT encoding did not do this.
save as one big page, No more waiting cycling page 1,2,3 Rated 4 out of 5 stars
awesome - I can't believe I lived without this for so long. I find this useful on web review sites that split an article over several pages so they can have extra adverts. Now when I want to save the article it is one files with all the pages - very cool. This review is for a previous version of the add-on (2006.4.5).
