Disable Ctrl-Q Shortcut

Rated 5 out of 5 stars

I believe this is my favorite add-on, so that grants another review from my part.

"I screamed foul curses for the last time. What the hell kind of shortcut layout is it that closing a tab is next to quitting the whole program?"

-- Same thing is true concerning Simple Scan (Ubuntu): the page-scanning shortcut (ctrl-1) sometimes causes finger to slip on the Q key and therefore exit the program and throwing all the current project away without any fault tolerance.

How come this add-on is not available for the Linux platform? I used it back then, when I was still on Windows -- and it worked fine. It is a shame it is unavailable for the Linux platform, as it is really practical an add-on.

Disable Ctrl-Q Shortcut

Does what it is supposed to be doing, under Linux at least. Rated 5 out of 5 stars

Another way to implement such a protection against the CTRL-Q shortcut feature is:
https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/always-ask/

Depending on the circumstances of your current browsing conditions, you might like one better than the other. Personally, having tried both, and in retrospective, I like this one better than "always ask," which, like the title says, always asks upon browser exiting, even through CTRL-W-ing, which may be obtrusive at times.

One of the most useful add-ons I ever have installed. Thank you! ;)

Very useful. Mozilla should really disable that one shortcut by default, though. Or, at least do something about it.

NoScript Security Suite

Rated 4 out of 5 stars

Quite a great extension. The only one installed over here.

The only hiccup is the lack of a password-protected "prevent NoScript options to be changed" feature -- for guest users.

I HAVE FOUND A SHORTCOMING:

It seems Flash can be installed (on v4.0) through a circumvention of this add-on. Is not there a way to block that -- or maybe not?

Fine, except for the "Could not initialize dlwatch extension" error message popping up using Firefox 4. It seems almost everyone is getting it.

Great, although... Rated 4 out of 5 stars

Really great. The only reason why I am not putting a 5 here is I want the author of this product to have a chance to read this review.

This is an essential addon in the prevention of malware. Use * to block all. IT WOULD BE GREAT TO HAVE THE OPTION TO BLOCK ALL *EXCEPT* GIVEN EXTENSIONS, for example, * \pdf -- meaning, block ALL, except PDFs.

Awesome product. Highly recommended.

Adblock Plus

This is the only extension I've ever used. However, there are a few flaws I've reported on the forum, but hopefully they are fixed in a future release. In spite of those, a very usable and welcomed add-on, indeed.

Firefox Throttle

Well, so far this add-on works okay for me. I'm using it only for its traffic counter "stats" feature, though.

I was wondering if you could implement in future versions of this add-on the addition of an item to the "View" menu, titled, for example, "Traffic Stats?" That would in my mind make for an easier access to the total traffic stats so one doesn't fear of boosting his monthly quota! Good extension, by the way!

ProCon Latte Content Filter

Nice porn-blocking software. Simply add password and restart the browser, and you're set to go!

Best of its kind, as far as I know.

i have been tinkering with the thought that if that feature would be more popular, and became "used by significant minority," then it would be to the benefit of all for it to be included by default in future versions of firefox:

Useful security tool Rated 5 out of 5 stars

I can't wait for this to be compatible with Firefox 3!

It would also be nice to have a predefined-list for the blocking of dangerous formats, see link:
