While it works exactly as i need it, the toolbar icon keeps reseting its position. If i move it to some place between other icons, close the Firefox and open it again, the icon will be reset back to the very right side of the toolbar. Plz fix this. This review is for a previous version of the add-on (1.4).
I didn't like the old add-on because it was tied to the antivirus and while i use avast!, it was so annyong because the add-on didn't sync inside the browser like all the other add-ons. But now it does.
Fantastic addon. I have no clue what the hell were Firefox devs thinking when they moved the star button out of the URL bar in Firefox 29. I totally loved it there and i still want it there. And thanks to this addon, i now can! This review is for a previous version of the add-on (1.0.5).
New version 3.10 works again with Firefox 17. I hope it will stay this way because this download accelerator is by far the best. No unnecessary features, just stock Firefox downloader that gets turbo charged by this extension. This review is for a previous version of the add-on (3.1.0). One of my favorite addons. It was a nimble but very powerful addon. No extra stuff that i never ever needed, just great integration with the stock download manager and truly amazing download speeds. dTa does offer the same download speed but it comes with all the necessary stuff that i never need. I wish dTa developer would release a Lite version which would essentially be the same as FireDownload. It's a shame that they stopped developing FireDownload. Downloading experience will never be the same for me...This review is for a previous version of the add-on (2.0.1).
I just can't understand why did you have to ruin an awesome extension just because of the dumb LastPass. Instead of just one awesome extension (Xmarks) you now have to use 2 crippled extensions. Oxymoron much? This review is for a previous version of the add-on (3.9.5). This user has a previous review of this add-on.
Fix the damn "Error While Syncing" with "Unknown Error". This crap is happening for 5 days now and it's pissing me off.
Why can't this thing ever just work right for a change!?!??!?!?!?!??!??
Well Firefox seems to work fine now but i'm constantly getting "Error while syncing" (Unknown error) in the last 2 days which is really annoying. Then i restart the browser and everything is fine again.
That corruption or misarrangement of bookmarks seems to be related to AdBlock extension though i don't have anything solid on it.
This version is finally something positive i can talk about. Syncing seems to be ok now, no more crazy duplicates, missing bookmarks or messed up bookmarks. It's what Weave used to be when it was called Weave. Only thing they have to sort out now is syncing interval which is really way too long and syncing on browser exit. Also sync controls in Firefox 4 aren't too good, espeically because of the new Add-ons bar. The icon should rotate like it does in Firefox 3.6, not just that barely visible blue glow inside arrows.
Other than that this is the first time after many months when i can rate this extension with 4 stars.
When they'll fix the above mentioned issues, i'll be glad to give it 5 starts as many times as i gave it 1 star.
LastPass... why use 2 extensions if just one did the job brilliantly? Xmarks that is. Stupid and idiotic.
Now i'll have to use moronic Firefox Sync or 2 extensions for the task that could be done by just one. Double tactical facepalm.
Might be a good reason for me to migrate to Chrome because of this. With Chrome 10 bringiing password sync as well under a single service i see little point in using Firefox then if Xmarks is crippled like this...
It's like buying a Ferrari and then you're asked to buy its engine separately somewhere else.... WTF!?
And a side note. I never liked LastPass and i still don't like it.
This one looks like a good GMail Notifier replacement. And it is. The extension is great and is perfectly set out of the box. Good job and keep up the good work. This review is for a previous version of the add-on (1.21).
GMail Watcher seems to be the closes thing. Not the same but i like it, so i'll just stick with it for now. You can find it here:
Please note: development has ceased on this extension.
I hope this is some kind of mistake because i can't imagine using Firefox without this one. And i don't really want to use any other.
Excellent extension, i can't imagine using any browser without it (one of the reasons why i'm sticking to Firefox). However, version 0.6.4.3 doesn't work anymore since it got updated yesterday. Can you check it out?
Lol, will this addon ever work properly? This review is for a previous version of the add-on (1.5). This user has other reviews of this add-on.
When i thought i'm done with Firefox Sync and i'll just use Xmarks instead, another bad news hits me. Xmarks is in a process of getting discontinued. Great. Now i'll have to use crappy Firefox Sync. What has to be addressed if you ever want Firefox to work right.
- STABILITY, RELIABILITY! (repeat this 10 times)
- SYNC BOOKMARKS WHEN YOU OPEN OR CLOSE FIREFOX
How i hate it when my 300 bookmarks get all messed up/erased/duplicated or half gone because Firefox Sync is totally unreliable? Or i bookmark something important on netbook, rush to a main PC just to find out the bookmark was not synced when i closed the Firefox. How stupid is that!? And what i absolutely don't get it is that Weave used to work perfectly (i'm following it from the day 1), but when this thing entered version 1.0 it became complete junk. Like they changed teams on v1.0 and everything was messed up and still not fixed in version 1.4.4. That's just horrific.
Make the damn thing Sync if i click Sync Now damn it. Edited bookmarks on another omputer, clicked sync now and closed the Firefox later. Went to another computer and synced the data. And guess what, half of bookmarks were still in their old location. Firrefox Sync team should really learn from Xmarks guys. They seem to know what they are doing. Unlike Firefox Sync team...This review is for a previous version of the add-on (1.4.4). This user has other reviews of this add-on.
Finally a bit more reliable. Though i miss syncing on browser closing. The problem here is that i bookmark something on my main system and close the browser. Then i take my netbook and i don't have those bookmarks with me. Because Firefox Sync did not sync bookmarks on browser close. Xmarks does syncing on close and it's much better. This review is for a previous version of the add-on (1.4.4). This user has other reviews of this add-on.
Good to see status bar icon back. I still hate the fact that all the links that open automatically have comletelly outdated changelogs and info.
I also hope reliability is any better. Because it was complete rubbish before...
Oh for god sake, fix the damn server errors already. With each extension update i was hoping for it to get fixed and i'm still constantly getting that dreaded server sync error. Why the hell was Weave working perfectly ALL THE TIME and this thing has PROBLEMS ALL THE TIME. Yey, i just got that nice exclamation mark icon again. Stupid. This review is for a previous version of the add-on (1.4). This user has other reviews of this add-on.
