In a little more detail...

I have been using Firefox while constantly trying to use other browsers, and I still believe that Firefox has its fantastic potential for the future. Google Chrome is totally fine. RockMelt is sort of OK. However, what motivates me to use Firefox is that the numbers of add-ons which do not exist for either of Chrome (or Rock Melt)... at all.

My only concern is however that how each add-on developers flexibly change those interfaces of add-ons like ones for Google Chrome. I, as a user, always wonder what extent those existing add-ons have potential to be renewed for their future version; in the other words, do those developers of Firefox Add-ons keep their motivation to change their add-ons into something that looks "the most current," like the ones for Chrome?

My Reviews

Google Viewer

Open in a new tab? Rated 4 out of 5 stars

This add-on is my favorite addon associating with Google Docs, and it works pretty well. One thing I want besides its basic functionality is an ability to open Google Docs in a new tab. If future version will be compatible with having the option, it'd be perfect for me. :)

This review is for a previous version of the add-on (1.0).

Write Area

Overall, wonderful add-on except one wish for the future version. Rated 4 out of 5 stars

I have used Write Area to edit my blog posts, and it has been working for me pretty well. Although there are several Firefox Add-ons compatible with WYSIWYG editor, I like this add-on the most.

However, the latest version only has a choice to open up the editing window by replacing it with an original posting textarea, which sometimes causes to broke the entire design around the textare and it is hard to edit.

For example, I'm using tumblr. and their official bookmarklet "share on Tubmlr" and its textarea in a posting page ( http://www.tumblr.com/share ) got broken when I enable WriteArea. I hope that future version would have an option to choose between pop-up the Write Area editor -- like the older versions -- and replacing the editor.

Make Link

Rated 4 out of 5 stars

Make Link helps me a lot for various reasons such as posting an e-article to my blog, email/text URL with its title, inserting info online with its source...

I found a website pointing out that this original version isn't compatible with making <br> and replaces <br> with "\n."

The webowner modified this original version to fix this matter and distributes at the following page:

Firefox Sync for Firefox 3.5/3.6

No Drama there Rated 1 out of 5 stars

Comparing to Xmarks, the all functionaries of Firefox Sync is simply not competitive; I wonder if this add-on is going to be officially included in the future Firefox like Chrome Sync for Google Chrome.... Like other ones say in reviews, errors on an official add-on are absolutely unfriendly to newcomers who don't know about Firefox....(at least) yet. I created both accounts to use both for over two months, and my final answer doesn't come with Firefox Sync. I'll try this addon when it comes with Firefox 4, and may take time to re-review this add-on positively..... I hope.

Compact Menu 2

選べるのが良い Rated 5 out of 5 stars

This review is for a previous version of the add-on (1.7.2-2).
