Works! Rated 5 out of 5 stars
Not the most user-friendly of add-ons. Doesn't seem to do anything at first. You have to browse to www.pdfescape.com to open any PDF files either online or from your PC. But as an integrated cloud solution this is pretty decent with its tiny browser footprint.
Compare with Google Docs which relies on Adobe Reader for its advanced functions e.g. printing. PDFescape doesn't rely on Adobe at all.
Also consider Foxit Reader as a replacement standalone reader, but that is much bigger than PDFescape.
Echoing TabMixPlus problems Rated 3 out of 5 stars
Works, but if you've got TabMixPlus (see above for the fix) it's largely redundant. I suppose if I had a massive amount of desktop real estate at my disposal it'd be a lot more useful, but I just can't see what's going on. It's a bit like having four mobile phone screens on your screen that you can use together at the same time. I can possibly see it being useful for copying and pasting content between a web page and a forum thread, for example. This review is for a previous version of the add-on (0.7.1).
works in FF3 I think Rated 4 out of 5 stars
I've tested in FF3 and it works for me, you just have to mod the xpi file via "six steps to heaven" routine:
Props to Gogo77 (amended):
1. Save latest version of .xpi file to desktop
2. Rename *.xpi to *.zip
3. Open zip in e.g. Winzip and open install.rdf in edit mode
4. Replace 1.4* by 3.* in Mozilla Firefox section.
5. Save file and rename zip archive back to .xpi
6. Open .xpi file in Firefox, will install no problem
I have Tab mix Plus installed in single window mode so I don't get affected by the issues outlined above. This tool is ace!
