Classic Theme Restorer (Customize Australis)

A needed add-on if you're not fond of the minimalist Australis GUI. Rated 5 out of 5 stars

It's wonderful to see that this add-on extension will be available when the Firefox Australis GUI is finally implemented. With four full months until its final release in late April this add-on should be feature packed and all the wrinkles ironed out. As a Linux user I am not happy to see that some of the features only work in Windows. Hopefully when Australis comes to be all the features and functions of Classic Theme Restorer will work on every platform.

All-in-One Sidebar

Great extension..... that could be even better Rated 5 out of 5 stars

For me AIOS has been a very useful and extensively used extension since its inception. Kudos to the author for maintaining it well for all these years. Thanks! With the arrival of Firefox Australis in the near future Mozilla has stated they will be going with a minimalist GUI and that custom toolbars will be no more. Access to everything will be from one bar. Firefox power users, who heavily customize their browsers, will be short of room to house icons that quickly access extensions. That will make AIOS all the more important to them. Perhaps the author of this fine extension might consider having an option for a second, side-by-side, panel to insure there will be room for icons of even the most extension-crazy users. It would greatly lessen the fear of many Firefox users that there won't be enough room to customize easily. AIOS would surely be a much faster way to access things you want to get at quickly than what Mozilla has planned. The importance of this extension will go up quite a bit when the Australis UI is released.

Adblock Plus

Great aid in fighting all that's unwanted Rated 5 out of 5 stars

This extension works quietly in the background keeping all forms of ads off the web pages you're viewing. You seldom have to do anything with it. Without question this is one of the most useful extensions you could install to your Firefox browser.

Thumbnail Zoom Plus

A nice little add-on Rated 5 out of 5 stars

Thumbnail Zoom Plus is one of those addons that, while not indespensible, provides a convenient feature you soon grow to love.

Tab Mix Plus

I'm lost without Tab Mix Plus Rated 5 out of 5 stars

A mountain of extensions are available to Firefox users, many of which are very useful and well done. There are also a special handful that are extremely well done and could be considered indispensible. I would put Tab Mix Plus in that catagory. This extension gives the user a command of browser tabs/tab bar FAR BEYOND any other addon in its genre. This extension is simply the best of its type and offers the users so many tweaking options. Whenever I introduce someone to Firefox I never fail to mention a number of extensions that greatly expand the feature set and usefulness of the browser. At the very top of that list is Tab Mix Plus!
When Firefox 17 came out there was a compatiblity issue with Tab Mix Plus. The extension developers were on the problem in a heartbeat and quickly had a solution. Outstanding! All extension developers should be so conscientious and competent.

All-in-One Gestures

Awesome extension! Rated 5 out of 5 stars

I've been using All-in-One Gestures for years and have to say this is one very useful extension. Indespensible in fact! When I first was considering trying it out I had doubts on how much I would use it. A friend recommended I start slow with only a few gestures, but I tried hard to use them when ever I could. It soon became clear this was a much more efficient way to navigate. Over time more and more gestures were added, and today I have sixteen. Yes it's true it takes a little time and effort to feel comfortable with this extension, but the rewards are well worth it. Today it feels awkward to use a Firefox browser without All-in-One Gestures.

Speed Dial

Way beyond good....sensational! Rated 5 out of 5 stars

I've used this extension for many years and have to say that of the sixty plus extensions I have on my Firefox browser Speed Dial is, without question, one the most used and usefull I've ever come across. I have this add-on set up with 23 tabs that house a hair under 600 dials, so finding and accessing web sites I go to often is a snap. Today I consider it to be an absolutely indespensible extension, and would be lost without it. When I use browsers that don't have Speed Dial it's like going back in time ..... to when stone knives and bearskins were in vogue!

FireGestures

It's ok....but Rated 2 out of 5 stars

I tried FireGestures the other day when I found out that the extension All-in-One Gestures wouldn't work in Firefox 4.0. I tried to setup FireGestures the same way as I had All-in-One Gestures, with 13 gestures. Sadly, it fell short of the mark with only 11. One gesture had no equivilent, and a second gesture didn't work very well as it opened the wrong thing. For the features I like All-one-Gestures is also a little easier to setup. FireGestures is ok if you have to use it, but I would much rather use All-in-One Gestures. Hopefully the extension developer will upgrade it to work in Firefox 4.0 soon so I can, once and for all, put this mediocre substitute to bed.

macfox NOSTALGIA

Who said old is out? Rated 5 out of 5 stars

MacFox Nostalgia is SmartBright's respin of Kelly Cunningham's MacFox II. Thanks to both developers for designing and then keeping this theme alive. While it may be old in the tooth it is, without question, still one of the classiest looking Firefox themes going..... Simple, conservative, and professional looking. Like one of the other reviewers I too could not get MacFox Nostalgia to work with personas after following the developer's instructions. The personas themes were added to the Firefox 3.6.13 default theme instead. How do I prevent this from happening? Regardless of this problem it's still a very fine theme. It is my sincere hope it is kept alive when Firefox 4.0 is released.

AnyColor

A simple request.... that would please many Rated 5 out of 5 stars

This is one of those add-ons that many many people will badly miss if it's not updated to work with Firefox 4. I understand you no longer have a desire to further develop this extension but having this work with the next major iteration of Mozilla browser would mean so much to so many. AnyColor really is a first class add-on with no equivalent. Sorry Personas, but your playing second fiddle.

Personas Plus

Rubbish! Rated 1 out of 5 stars

I'm sure some people will like Personas, but I think it's junk. Kids might like it. As someone who prefers solid colors a much better choice for changing the look of the browser is the Firefox extension AnyColor. With it I can make the subtlest hue, saturation, and lightness/darkness adjustments to not only the background color, but the highlight and text color as well. Can Personas do that? No!

Xmarks Sync

One of the more usefull extensions! Rated 5 out of 5 stars

When I first looked at Xmarks Bookmark and Password Sync the reviews on it were quite mixed. Despite many "horror story" bad reviews there were enough good ones to peak my curiosity. I decided to give Xmarks a try. I'm glad I did. Shortly after installing the extension I had a severe problem that required replacing my main hard drive. I had to go through the hassle of a complete system reformat. Even if you have your data backed up this procedure can be a royal pain in the butt. However, when it came time to reinstall my bookmarks I simply pushed a couple of buttons, waited a few minutes, and SHAZAM ...... My bookmark toolbar reappeared with all 25,000 + bookmarks in the folders, subfolders, and sub subfolders just as I had organized them. Everything was in place and completely up to date. I couldn't ask any more of Xmarks. Simply put, it worked perfectly in a crisis.

Bookmark Autohider

Rated 5 out of 5 stars

Oh yes! I was wondering when someone would make this a reality. It's overdue! Another feature I would like to see with this extension is a button, that would reside either on the toolbar or statusbar, to allow the user to turn it on and off. Thanks to the developer for a job well done. Now take it the next step.

LastPass Password Manager

A must have extension! Rated 5 out of 5 stars

This extension sure makes life on the internet a lot simpler.... and a lot more secure! Remember one master password and then create tons of ultra secure passwords for all your sites. LastPass is wonderful as a form filler too.

Full Screen Status Bar

Rated 5 out of 5 stars

This is a very small convenience extension that does a simple task and works as described. Nice! I was wondering when someone would bring this idea to fruition.

No Color

Simple yet oh so useful! Rated 5 out of 5 stars

No color is great for when you come across a web page where the print, background color, or both play visual havoc with your eyes. With a touch of a status bar icon the print goes to black, the background to white and all links to blue. Say goodbye to all those psychedelic colored web site that do little more than give you a headache. This extension is sure to come in handy.

AnyColor

WOW! . Rated 5 out of 5 stars

Since Firefox's inception I had been hoping that someone would develop an extension like Anycolor. Not to belittle Firefox theme developers but the colors that users have to choose from is very limited, especially very light colored ones. While this extension is not the complete answer to the problem it is a HUGE IMPROVEMENT in moving in the right direction. The number of themes this add-on is compatible with is limited at this time, but the developer is actively striving to add more. A few things I would like to see in the future: 1. It would be nice to be able to set both the tab and text colors of both the active and inactive tabs. 2. Anycolor disables the custom coloring of the tabs and text in Speed Dial. 3. Lastly I would like to see the developer have clearer explanations with illustrations on how to uses the features of this extension on his home page. A picture is worth a thousand words!. Despite these minor glitches and shortcomings I still have to give this much needed add-on 5 stars. Well done Pavlost, it's a good start.

Fast Dial

A very convenient add-on! Rated 5 out of 5 stars

Today I installed Fast Dial on my system. I didn't know what to expect from this extension initially, especially whether or not I would really have any need for the add-on. After partitioning the Fast Dial page into 18 units and loading them with favorite web sites of my choosing the extension was ready to go. Soon any doubts I might have had about Fast Dial were put to rest. No sooner had I cleared the tab bar the Fast Dial page appeared. Yes, one click and off to another favorite site. For the way I use my browser I found great utility in this add-on as it proved both a convenient and fast way to browse. I'm definitely happy I gave this extension a look.

Cooliris 3D Wall

Wow.....This rocks! Rated 5 out of 5 stars

As someone who is very extension oriented I am constantly looking at new add-ons. Some I like and they find a home on my machine, while many others just pass through. I installed PicLens a few months back not knowing what to expect, but was I ever surprised by what I found. This is one VERY COOL extension! Pictures and video clips come alive. Double cool is the fact the developers are making improvements to it all the time. If you haven't taken a look at this extension yet then please do so for you are in for a real treat. PicLens is flat out one of the premiere Firefox add-ons. A must have!
