My Reviews

Zoom Page WE

Rated 5 out of 5 stars

I have the same problem as the user below. After installing the latest version, the first tab zooms in and out without the RMB held down. Since I have this feature already in Foxy Gestures, I disabled them by turn and can confirm that the problem is definitely coming from Zoom Page WE.

In my case, I simply unchecked that option in Zoom Page WE as I have no use for it.

Search Multi Tabs

Rated 5 out of 5 stars

Excellent add-on! A nice replacement for FindBar Tweak.

For those that require searching on a single tab only with search markers, I would recommend Highlight All:

https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/highlightall/

Note: With HighlightAll, you have to click once on the page after searching to make search markers appear.

This review is for a previous version of the add-on (1.0.1).

FindBar Tweak

Rated 5 out of 5 stars

Search Multi Tabs can be used to search across multiple tabs:

https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/search-multi-tabs/

HighlightAll can be used to give graphical search markers on the tab you search on:

https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/highlightall/

Note: I find you have to click once on the page after doing a search to make search markers show up on the right-hand side.

Video DownloadHelper

Rated 5 out of 5 stars

The previous version was always asking where to save files but version 7.1.0 cured that problem. It now saves to the default folder.

But a new problem with this latest version is not respecting the minimum size threshold (Ignore hits below this size). I have it set at 1048576 which used to block small files under 1MB but now a lot of hits under that size are coming through.

This review is for a previous version of the add-on (7.1.0).

Glitter Drag

Fantastic add-on! Rated 5 out of 5 stars

This add-on works great and I look forward to its continuing development. Before this, I was using Drag & Drop Zones and DragLinks which I have removed as this add-on serves both functions for links and text.

Thank you to the author for making this add-on.

Grab and Drag

Not compatible with Firefox 53 Rated 5 out of 5 stars

Like the two commenters below, the page intermittently jumps back to the top of the page making it completely unusable on Firefox 53.

Firefox 52 still working great.

History AutoDelete

Excellent add-on! Rated 5 out of 5 stars

Thank you to the author for making this excellent add-on!

I have been using this add-on for a few weeks now and it works as promised. It's interesting to check the logs and see how it is deleting history entries and keeping the size of places.sqlite from growing.

My places.sqlite used to keep growing and I would occasionally have to delete large chunks of history to keep it in check. Now this add-on does that function for me.

An absolutely essential add-on.

Switched to Lympha Rated 5 out of 5 stars

This was a great add-on while it worked but it no longer works on Firefox 49 Nightly. I've switched over to Lympha and so far it seems to have the same functionality.

Kill It

Excellent add-on! Rated 5 out of 5 stars

Works as advertised. The pop-up menu that allows you to see the different parts of the page that will be selected for deletion is very useful.

Thank you to the author for making this add-on.

Bookmark Flypaper

No longer working on Firefox 44.0 Rated 5 out of 5 stars

The icon no longer shows up in the add-ons bar, bookmarks are not captured, and there is no way to access the add-on.

Additional notes: I am using pcxFirefox 44.0 which is a 64-bit version of Firefox I have been using for some time. I have over 90+ add-ons running, and except for those add-ons which needed updating, all the other add-ons are working fine. Bookmark Flypaper is enabled but it does not show up except in the (ctrl-shift-A) menu where it is enabled. The "fly" does not appear in the customize menu. Thank you to the developer for the quick response. I will keep troubleshooting. I link below to the pcxFirefox version which I am using:

SiteDelta

Rated 5 out of 5 stars

I can not thank the author enough for making this truly useful add-on. It saves so much time in not having to search for changes in sites.

Open Some Bookmarks

Rated 5 out of 5 stars

Thank you for an extremely useful add-on!

Feature request: Could we have icons added to the unopened tabs.

Load Tab on select

Rated 5 out of 5 stars

Excellent add-on.

One problem with the latest version is that it does not dim unselected tabs like the previous versions did. It would be nice if the add-on author could return this feature as it gives a visual cue of unselected tabs.

New experimental version fixes problem Rated 5 out of 5 stars

Thank you for a great add-on!

********UPDATE TO REVIEW******** ...see below

I understand that the add-on picks up matches from the uri, title, or text content. I am trying to match a uri with "/movies" in it.

If I use just "movies", I get a match but also any page that has the word "movie" in it. When using "/movies", I get no match on either the uri or any page. Attempting to escape the forward slash using a backslash like so "\/movies" gets no response on either the uri or any webpage.

Is there a way to include the forward slash to get a more specific match to the uri while not picking up other pages that have a word in their title or page? The usual way of escaping the forward slash is not working.

********UPDATED REVIEW********

The author was gracious enough to make a new version (see version in authors reply) which had some changes that fixed the problem I was having. I am now able to to use larger parts of the URI that contain the forward slash and can match using regular expressions including escaping. I can now zero in on the URI to get a more exacting match and thus avoid matching on page content.

Thank you so much to the author for your hard work in making this extremely useful add-on.

Watch with MPV

Excellent add-on! Rated 5 out of 5 stars

Works great!

Thank you for an excellent add-on.

Tip: To make the player open in full screen, do the following (see Note below):

Make a text file and write in it "--fs". This is the command to full screen. Rename the file "mpv.conf". Place it in the mpv folder that is in the mpv directory (The mpv folder is the one that has "fonts.conf" in it). Now your player will open in full screen.

Note: The developer has pointed out something that I missed in that you can enter the parameter above in the setup screen. I left the tip above as it may be useful to someone who uses mpv to play video files directly off their hard drive in which case the above information is useful.

Works as advertised.

Thank you to the developer for an excellent addon.

Download Manager (S3)

Rated 5 out of 5 stars

Thank you for an excellent add-on.

There is a problem with mini mode not sticking. On every browser restart, the first download always defaults back to full mode. As someone who only uses mini mode, I have to keep changing it back to mini mode each browser restart.

It would be nice if like Download Statusbar, it kept this setting between browser restarts.

AutoPager

The fix below is no fix Rated 5 out of 5 stars

This is what my Autopager shows in splitbrowse.js at the present. I made no changes.

ctx = ctx.defaultView;
//ctx = lm(ctx, "defaultView")();
} else if(ctx instanceof ci.nsIDOMNode) {
//ctx = lm(lm(ctx, "ownerDocument")(), "defaultView")();
ctx = ctx.ownerDocument.defaultView;

The change has already been made with the previous code left in but AutoPager still doesn't work on Firefox 26.0b1.

URL Alias

Missing "Add URL Alias..." in context menu Rated 5 out of 5 stars

@ Jimmy69Kat

I sent an email to the add-on author about this. There is some code missing from what was in the previous version.

Remove Cookie(s) for Site

Rated 5 out of 5 stars

No confirmation display on Firefox 25+ but the add-on still works.

I am getting a 404 on the author's support site so here is a simple fix. Open up overlay.js and replace the following:

document.getElementById("statusbar-display");

with:

gBrowser.getStatusPanel();

I found the fix here on the following Mozilla page:
