About this Add-on
YouTube Video and Audio Downloader is an open-source project, downloading Youtube videos (using Firefox download manager or a custom external download manager) in all available formats (FLV, MP4, WebM, and 3GP) with video quality of your choice. It also contains a pure JavaScript library to extract the original audio file embedded in video files. MP3 conversion is also possible if FFmpeg is installed. It is also shipped with an offline tool to extract audio files out of FLV videos.
Features:
1. Download YouTube videos in all available format (FLV, MP4, WebM, and 3GP)
2. Extract original audio file. Useful to listen to the downloaded audio files on MP3 players.
3. Download video subtitles in all available languages.
4. Get comprehensive information about currently opened YouTube video.
5. Video conversion tools (mp3 Converter, M4A audio muxer, WebM audio muxer, and AAC audio extractor).
6. Support for DASH video- and audio-only streams with auto muxing.
Supported Video Qualities: 2160p, 1440p, 1080p, 720p, 480p, and 360p
Supported Formats: WebM, FLV, MP4, 3GP, Verbos, and OPUS
Notes:
1. Please install and configure FFmpeg. The extraction capability of the extension improves a lot with FFmpeg installed.
2. To keep the original quality of the downloaded tracks, the extension only extracts the ORIGINAL audio files from video files. If you need MP3 conversion, install https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/media-converter-and-muxer/ extension. YouTube Video and Audio Downloader is integrated with media converter extension hence you can access it from the toolbar button.
