XPath Checker Version History

7 versions

Be careful with old versions!

These versions are displayed for reference and testing purposes. You should always use the latest version of an add-on.

Version 10.1 KiB Works with Firefox 3.0 and later

Tested with Firefox 4 beta; no changes needed.

Version 0.4.3 6.0 KiB Works with Firefox 3.0 - 3.6.*

Install is fixed to work with Firefox 3.6.
Variables are now in a namespace to avoid possible conflicts with other addons.

Version 0.4.1 6.0 KiB Works with Firefox 1.0 - 3.6.*

Briefly tested with Firefox 3.6. XPath Checker is unnecessarily adding namespaces to the xpaths that it generates in 3.6, but otherwise looks okay.

Update: this version works in Firefox 3.6 only if you installed it in Firefox 3.5 or below and then upgraded.

Version 0.4 6.0 KiB Works with Firefox 1.0 - 1.5.0.*

Added namespace support. When you use XPath Checker on a page that uses namespaces, each namespace will be listed and automatically assigned a prefix to use in your XPath expressions. Works with XML, SVG, and MathML pages.

Version 0.3.4 5.0 KiB Works with Firefox 1.0 - 1.5.0.*

(1) Added support for frames. If you right-click within a frame and select "View XPath", it will display only that frame. (2) Increment version number to support Firefox 1.5.

Version 0.3.2 5.0 KiB Works with Firefox 1.0.3 - 1.4

(1) Fix bug where no results were displayed when selecting elements from an XML document. It now shows the XML source for the element. (2) Now works with Firefox 1.5 beta 1.

Version 0.3.1 5.0 KiB Works with Firefox 1.0.3 - 1.0.6

Initial release. Known bugs: (1) There is a race condition causing an incorrect results display when a page takes more than a second to load. Just hit return in the text box to redisplay. (2) XPath Checker is insecure for viewing untrusted pages using Firefox versions below 1.0.3. A warning will be displayed. (3) Although I've tried to do the right thing, this is my first attempt at a Firefox Extension and there may very well be other security holes. Code review would be greatly appreciated. This may be a good time to mention that the code comes with NO WARRANTY.
