Useful but not quite accurate Rated 3 out of 5 stars

A very useful tool for getting an approximate word count, but at the time of writing it consistently miscounts the number of words — not by much (usually about 4–8), but the error's annoying. Try it — copy some text from a web page into Word or Jarte. Both give identical counts, but this otherwise good extension gives a different result. Consequently, I'll replace it when something accurate becomes available.

This review is for a previous version of the add-on (1.0.rev216.1-signed).

Counting Policy Matter

Thanks Ngamoko for your feedback. I think the numbers of words shown in this add-on and in Word software are slightly different because of the way we define what are counting as a word. It's sometimes tricky to deal with hyphenates, punctuation and might be it's not consistent with other software. However, the difference is minimal and this add-on's report well suits most of people's needs.
