it works for me for English site, but the side bar on the Chinese site won't go away!!!
This is absolutely horrible. I think this is something old that doesn't work with Firefox anymore. Not that it really did in the first place! I can't even preview the changes or anything. I just see a window with a bunch of long sentences and checkboxes. If I wanted to see what something did, I'd have to click a link, then close the window to view the webpage that was linked because I couldn't leave the settings window. I'll give you one star for effort. Actually it's only because I can't give you zero.
There are reports currently open on [[Wikipedia:Village pump (technical)#QuickiWiki_Look_Up_-_Error]] and [[Wikipedia:Edit_filter/Requested#Adding_QuickiWiki]] that WikiTweak's confusingly-named "QuickiWiki" feature is placing the words "QuickiWiki Look Up" into the edit box on every edit made to Wikipedia. This triggers a [[Wikipedia:Edit filter]] which issues a warning instead of saving the edit to the wiki.
Effectively, installing this (if the offending 'feature' is enabled) compromises the user's ability to edit Wikipedia. I would advise removing the 'feature' or the extension from Firefox until this is fixed.
when I moved to Firefox 11, pop-ups starting behave very strange. They just hang on top of page. And if you are in the middle - you just cant see them. Its grate ad-don. I like it. Please fix )
This add-on sure did "add on." It added a bunch of little yellow icons after *every single* internal link, ruining the flow of the articles and making me whatever the computer version of carsick is. It was so horrible I wound up going to the Wikipedia help IRC and thanks to them figured out what was destroying what was usually an enjoyable experience on their website. If Wikipedia themselves had done such a horrible change to their website, I would be inclined to stop using it.
I downloaded it thinking it was a search-addon for Wikipedia. It doesn't do that (apparently) and I also haven't found any instructions on what it does do. I only found Wiki-Tweak Options, but not how to "start" it. Perhaps later I'll look into it again just to find out what this is, and what it does, and how one goes about doing that. But meanwhile I'm uninstalling it.
Very helpful with wonderful interface
I would truly like to congratulate you on how you've introduced me to conservapedia. I took me a while to figure out that Wikitweaks was the reason for it popping up.
Everytime I auto login to Wikipedia with your Wikitweak add on I receive one, two, sometimes three additional tabs from Conservapedia; when I disable your app though and manually sign into Wikipedia nothing happens. What was truly interesting is how some of the topics presented on Wikipedia autopop pages from Conservapedia telling me what the revisionist history truly is. I thank you from the bottom of my heart for learning that comic books is a devil spawned media trying to subvert all children in the U.S. into mindless junkies.
Otherwise, I find your app useful since I don't have to continually look at the same boring background over and over again.
Wikipedia looks much cleaner now!
I''m just downloading this, so I don't know if you have addressed my pet peeve about Wikipedia. When the homepage comes up, the cursor should be automatically located in the search entry control. Now, you have to manually select the entry control. That would make the UI much friendlier. Next version?
I'm rating this based on your other Tweak products I love and the list of features.
Now my Wikipedia is blue and lovely.
i like the wikipedia popups on terms
i like the wikipedia popups on terms
I've installed it mainly for the footnotes preview function, it doesn't work, plus it makes the wikipedia page loads slower.
Waste of time
This addon is cool since I spend a LOT of my time on wikipedia anyway!
Great add-on.. although it could use a bit of updating in the Styles tab. The scripts are ok as long as you're not using the latest Wikipedia features.
Very nice small addon, adds cool functionality & features to wikipedia.
Great boon to my search efforts!!
Great collection of Wikipedia enhancements. Makes it easier to get the info you want quickly. Thanks.
